Interested, thanks Dartman. Let me know when you are back, I'm in no rush.. got lots to do on the car anyways! Have a good rest of the trip.

Thanks, Passenger side is what I'm most interested in as it has the most repairs. My drivers side is ok with no rust, I'd replace it if I found a nice one that needs no work.

64 and 65 fenders are different because V shaped sweep on the sides, 65 is a lot narrower. They are interchangeable for those 2 years.

Lee, I have noticed this difference but only on the Valiant. The 64-65 Barracuda seems to have the same (narrower sweep). At least that's what I've notices from looking at pictures online!

Valiants and Barracudas use the same fenders. If you have seen pictures on line with the wide sweep on a 65 car they have put 64 fenders
on the car. Same with the 65 narrow sweep fenders on a 64. The factory could have used left over 64 fenders on a 65, but highly unlikely as
they always want to stress the "new" models. 64 and 65 Valiant and Barracuda grilles are different as well. There are differences in the tail
light bezels between 64 and 65 too.

Are these the two variations we are talking about? Both of those are '64, mine is a '64 an looks just like the Barracuda in the picture.

That is a 65 Barracuda in top picture. A 64 Barracuda has different a grille and the wide sweep fenders like the Valiant pictured.
There is a difference in the way hoods open between the 2 years. The 65 has a little release lever under the center emblem.
At least that is what I have found on a 65 Valiant hood. I wouldn't think there would be a difference in a 65 Barracuda hood.
Manufacturers are always trying to save as much money as they can. It would make no sense to have a different hood for a 65
Valiant and a 65 Barracuda. The Barracuda is a Valiant with a different roof.

Well maybe I'm wrong. I did look online at 64 Barracuda pictures and they had the narrow sweep fenders. Apparently the 64
Barracudas did have a different fender than a 64 Valiant. I would swear that I have seen 64 Barracudas with the wide sweep
fenders.

Maybe it was a Barracuda with 64 valiant fenders lol

I think the 64 and 65 Barracudas have the same grills and taillights
