Hey guys,

im at a total loss here..

is the centerlink supposed to be level?
because mine isnt.

its causing the idler arm/tie rod hitting my exhaust tube and torsion bar.
and the center link to rub against the oil pan.

check the imgur album for pics:

the idler arm is a MOOG K7086, replaced last year

Looks like you have a 68-72 K member or 73-76 k-member.

Looks like you have a 73-76 Abody center link. Although the B/E ones look the same until you measure the length.

Do you have a large spline power steering box (73-up) or small spline (72-down) ?

First guess is wrong idler or pitman arm.

I had a slanted centerlink once when I used a E/B body idler I had laying around. Looked close, until you laid them on top of each other.

The pitman/power steering side has total clearance clarence, no trouble there. also not touched/changed by me.

reason for me to change the idler arm was because in the netherlands you have to get your car checked out every 2 years.

MOT guy told me too much play in bushing, so i changed it with a new K7086

It looks like the wrong center link......From what I see......

AAAAHHH....HMMMMM

if i would change the centerlink (if it would be wrong) the idler arm would still hit the exhaust.. because it will still swing the same way..

I think that is the right 73-76 Abody idler part number.

What idler was actually in the box could be something else. I’d look into it being the incorrect part in the new box..

Might be wrong part in the box...

Looked at the rest of the pictures, that Idler is the wrong part.

Its hitting both the torsion bar and exhaust. Clearly it is to high. Only thing that places the center link is the Idler arm. Seems like an incorrect part.

This is my idler/centerlink, all 73-up front suspension. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. Looks like the idler drops down way more than yours. Center link sits level. Grease zerk clears torsion bar by 1/2" or so. I'd have to dig through my slips to be sure, but I just ordered the 73-up P/N from Moog. As suggested previously, maybe you got the wrong part in box?

I ordered a kit for my car and it came with an an idler arm that looks much different than the factory one. Haven’t had time to install it yet but it is a moog piece and it raises a red flag with me.
