Thanks, that's an old school combo, proves sometimes less is better, the paint is what's left of an old Maaco supreme ; Imron metallic blue over an original B-5

Ran my 55
Well....I just got back from a weekend of drag racing. I managed to make15 1/4 mile passes over three days, all in the 13.4 to 13.5 range. The best was a 13.44 at 99.5 mph with a 60' of 1.8. Not spectacular but certainly respectable for a 4000 pound street car. I went as far as the semifinals before breaking out.

So the car is unchanged this year. Last weekend I had it at the old time drags again. It was cooler than last year. The car ran an all time best of 13.29 @ 101 mph! Awesome.

  • 360, lets just say stock everything except mild cam (.427/204@050 intake, .454/216@050 exhaust), and a 4bbl.
  • Stock exhaust manifolds with 2.5 duals out the back
  • Stock 904 and converter
  • 2.45 gears open
  • Car weighs 3240 no driver, no spare and 1/4 tank
13.91 with a 1.94 60 ft. Tuning will continue.
 
1970 Dart Custom, full interior, 290 lb driver, weld in subframe connectors, stock E58 1974 360 .040 over, air gap intake with 750 cfm Edelbrock carb, stock smogger heads, double roller timing chain, .444 int/.467 exh, 288/298 degree duration cam, stock rockers, f TTI step headers, full 3 inch exhaust, tired 727 trans with stock convertor, 8 3/4 diff with 3.23 gears, Truetrac diff, adjustable pinion snubber, 245/60R15 BFG drag radials, 18 psi, best time 13.78 @ 100 mph. (13.80 to 13.85 @ 98 to 99 mph typically)

Here is my combo stock 360 MP .508 cam 3000 stall converter edelbrock RPM intake 750 Holley HP carb and 8.25 rearend 3.21 gear frame tied exhaust dumping at rear and M/T 255 drag radial best ET was 13.39 at 100 mph normally mid 13.40's car has full interior.

Update here too! Different used 440 in it this year, it is healthier and has a slightly bigger cam. Also I added a 850 double pump. It now runs 12.8! Heading to the track again this weekend.

Update:
Went to reverse manual valve body and upped torque converter to 3000 stall.
New hot time... 13.13"!

Slant six torsion bars
TTi headers and 2.5" exhaust


Shooting for 8.20s or better!!!
