Have seen a couple of stock stroke, forged, factory cranks (one supposedly a 340, the other a unturned 318 (did not see a -3 in pics) ) and these people were asking value of them. I responded with $1-150.00 (they were thinking $5-600.00). Am I being unfair in my valuation? Thanks for the replies.

You can get a brand new forged Eagle crank from Summit for 759, so yeah, 500-600 for a used steel 340 crank is dumbfuckery.

Yea, I agree 150 bucks max for that forged 318 crank..I'd buy it for $150, its not a bad crank, but that dude is on crank. LMAO

sold 2 340 steel cranks for 100 bucks each.....one needed to be polished...the other needed to be turned....

$100-150 is what I see all the time. They aren't everywhere for that price but you can shop around and find them.

if your paying 500 for a 318 crank, it better come with the 318 still installed around it

At $5-600.00, ask them for a 1 year parts and labor warranty and a magnaflux test, wait for the look on their face........................

I agree with the above posts.

200.00 would be the ceiling for a 340 crank at std spec needing a polish or .010 under grind.
All other sb factory steel cranks are 1-150.00 at std/.010

and for most applications on the street (not solid cam, AT, not truck or motorhome, not boat ) a cast crank is going to work just fine
sell any real 340 cranks to a 340 die hard

Krooser is a stand up guy to deal with
Found some keys for our dually if you are still using original ignition and door locks

folks that ask the "STUPID PRICE" for their stuff end up keeping their stuff.

As an engine builder I would say your right on track. Used factory cranks are subject to condition and sizing. If they are undersized it is possible to have been damaged and have a hair line crack that is not noticeable. If it is std. size it may be worn and need to be turned to get back to a usable size. all of this must be considered when purchasing a used crank. New forged cranks from Eagle or scat cost more but are usually 4340 material which is much stronger than the normal 1053 material that is factory. Good luck
