James's 1970 Dodge Dart build.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. It is very slow going. I'm not a crazy fast worker at it.

I'm not sure on color...I like Orange, Blue, or Silver. Cant decide.

Those were my top 3 colors when I started the Duster.....now I'm going Granite Pearl ...good luck with the decision. Again the cars looking good. :thumblef::thumblef::thumblef:

I wanted blue at first, silver next, and I am getting close to getting d=some orange on the car. I guess it is one of the drawbacks of a long build, lots of time to think!

just went through the whole thread, looking good.

Bravo Alpha build, I'd like to do this after I retire from the AF in a few years! Gonna be a sweet azz ride!

I see more and more aftermarket K members and that RMS rear link kit is awesome. I always kinda wondered how much of a pain it would be to take a factory Mustang 8.8 rear and fab up anchor points to the undercarriage...it looks like someone took the rough idea and made it work, albeit with integrated coil overs.

Um... Jesus Christ, man! I just read through this for the 1st time. Makes me feel like I haven't done crap on mine & I'm sure my wish list just doubled! Building an amazing car. Can't wait to see it.

Nothing short of fantastic. Makes me want to get in the garage and getter done. That is gonna be one sweet ride. Can't wait to see more progress. I have a Demon 440 project and I am hoping it will be half as nice as yours.

Hey MD,

I've read through this thread. Great build! I'm curious if you've had any recent progress? (I cheated, looked at you profile and see you're still active on this forum... LOL!)

Awesome project!!! Do get discouraged over the time it may take to get it done. It took me from 14 to 22 to get my duster done, and I'm still tinkering with it, changing things, and I'm not 30. But, good luck with it, have fun, and learn all you can.

Wow! That is amazing! Keep it up! Seeing all that you've accomplished gives me inspiration! Lead the way bro! Awesome! Thank you for your service and taking the time to post your pics of your work! Keep it going! God bless you!

I'm hella envious. I hope that some day my Dart gets half that level of love. Hopefully you're able to continue progress some day as well.

Just read this entire thread, awesome job, very inspiring. Thank you for posting so many pics, can't wait to get going on mine now.

Cheers
Mike

WOW. Kind of a lot has happened, I moved, got a new GF, had a baby who is now almost 7! Moved on a ranch and bought a great big 70 horsepower tractor and put the cars away!! Now I frequent a tractor forum! And I tell ya, it's addicting that tractor stuff is! Haha. Funny how things work out. Just a few months ago, I spent my $12k wad of cash of car fund money I had on a new slab to build a shop/garage. I need to save up for the building now! But here is where I am at now. Just 2 weeks ago, I got back into the car thing, came back to this site, and starting to get back into the grind!

Here's what I did the last couple weeks. Put the cars on the new slab:

Took the engine and transmission out of the garage with my tractor!

And I finished the brakes and line routing on the axle. Was a lot of work to get perfect, but I found a way!!

Holy crap! Has it seriously been that long?? This was one of the first builds I found on FABO. Since then I also got a new girlfriend, made her my wife and are currently on our way home from a 5 year anniversary cruise! Also, we bought 165 acres and put up two layer barns so I definitely understand how life can change your focus! Lol Good to have you back! Looking forward to more updates!

You are a very good welder my friend. And your attention to detail is stellar. My dart project is s ultra low budget affair compared to yours, but is taking about as long! Cant believe this thread is that old. I salivated over your work years ago! Nice slab too!

Thank you. I can't take all the credit, my brother in law is an excellent tig welder, his name will be one of the names on the side of the car. I've changed this build into a strip car, so it's getting decals and an '80's Shazam stripe!! Lol.

Welcome back. I always enjoyed your work....and your posts.

That is amazing that you still have your projects. Life certainly does get in the way of our hobby and we all must stay resilient throughout it all. Best of luck. I look forward to seeing your builds continue with great build quality and detail.

Hey right on man. Good to see you are still at it. I been away quite some time too and have just started coming back around. Time to pull my finger out and get back on my Dart. Good luck with your projects man.

Kinda worked on the front. I got some adjusting to do.

The copper nickel tube coming out of the right side of prop valve was just mock up, I made the replacement out of stainless.

I'm using Russell DOT brake hoses throughout. I thought the through the frame brake fittings were easier than trying to wrap the line under the frame.

Looks amazing! Depending on what wheels you run up front, do you think the braided hose would rub in that location?

Thanks. Ya know that's something I'll double check on right now. I know it'll clear but I'm running a 17x8 with 5.75 backspace and a 245/45/17 tire. I'll bolt one up and take a pic.
