Hey all. I've been looking for a supercharger for my small block 340 and can't seem to have any luck. The only ones I can find are the Paxton centrifugal ones and I am not a huge fan of them. (I think they look kinda dumb and I want to use my air filter) awas wondering if anyone knew of any other, more traditional roots style or twin screw supercharger that would work. I'm pretty sure there's nothing on the market but I figured I'd ask.

I think an inefficient, roots type, antiquated blower on a street car, with a huge hole in the hood, looks dumb... but to each their own.

Go for it !!!!!!! When this was my brothers car it had a tunnel ram, but I will have a blown w2 motor in it soon.

While the roots blower is inefficient with a big power demand on turning the rotors, they are well proven torque makers and monsters. The roots will pound out power (torque) on demand from idle to redline.
The centrifical (sp?) units build boost. In other words, you wait for it. This makes them more street friendly. They also push the torque curve and peak upwards. More boost equals a further push of the peaks in power and torque.

Wow! Nice ride there brother.

If you’re going roots, better make sure you have that steel forged crank. A cast crank will not end well.

This is great info. Thanks for all the input. And as far as the "hole in the hood" I have the big hemi cuda scoop. So hopefully I can get it all to fit under the scoop. If not, I'm still fine with that look.

Whipplecharger. Don't know that the stock air cleaner would work but may be able to plumb something up. Or glue it on top for looks or something.

Maybe someone will go measure from the China wall to the top of a popular blower for you and post it so you can get a good idea

You talking like a bolt on kit? I would think probably not.
Yea man! Open up a box and install the full and totally complete kit onto your engine and go!
If theY don’t, then I’m sorry but why post them up?

If they have kits for the new Hemi engines, well that’s great. However, once again the LA guys suck stinky wind again.

Now I’m not going to complain! There are two that I know of companies that do the roots blower, 1 (Paxton) that does the centrifical and a couple of places that use there brackets and someone else’s super charger. (“Torque Storm” for example. Which I like to pipe dream about!)

I’d like to see a company like Whipple (and others like Whipple) come to the small block Chrysler market! But I think it is a waste of there time. There after the masses of bigger more current fish that are out there now and coming up.

I was just a kid digging around in dad's garage find this funny lookin snail shell looking thing about twice the size of my head. "Hey Pop. What's this?" "That's a Paxton blower that came off my T Roadster." :steering:
