Hey all, I am ordering pieces to reassemble my 69 Barracuda grille and my grille surround is shot, lots of cracks and pieces of the plastic gone. I saw PG has a set of them, I just wondered if anyone had experience with these reproduced grille surrounds or what everyone else did to replace yours. Thanks.

IMO the only pieces that are usable is the plastic housings and the center crates.

The inner trim fit is terrible, The chrome surround is poorly chromed and one mount pin on the passenger side is incorrect.

Okay thanks. I went ahead and ordered the plastic housings from classic, they had a 20 percent off sale and I think I'm going to have the chrome from mine rechromed instead of buying new.

Had my 69 Grills restored by Totally Auto Inc.
I had them done in Formula S colors. They did a fantastic job.

I got Reproduction Parking Lights from Josh's Muscle Car Parts. I'm sure they are PG Classic's.

I had a good coupon at the time so the price was much better. The parking lights chrome and lenses are very good but we restored my original reflectors because they were better than the new ones.

Everything else is repaired/restored original. The Chrome on the surrounds is awesome.
They send the chrome parts out.

The complete 69 Grill kit 3309-HBKIT from PG does not include the parking lights.
Cost was about the same to restore my grills and add the new parking lights as for buying all new.
Very happy I chose to have mine restored. Trying to put original parts together with repops can be a real crap shoot for fitting together. I have never seen a complete PG grill in person.

Oh wow, those look great. I actually just found a set of NOS parking lights that look brand new so I got them and the plastic grille surround because mine was so cracked and missing pieces I don't believe it could really be restored cheaply. I'm going to have the parking lift brackets painted and everything else rechromed. Hopefully mine turns out as good as yours did!

The complete Grille from PG is crap! Terribly assembled due to the incorrect bend for the inner trim! The rivets used are a weak copper alloy and fully hollow. they should be semi-hollow.

Totally Auto did some nice detail on yours for sure, very nice!

They missed one thing for "S" and 'Cuda grilles though, The leading edge of the crate should be natural. Maybe the lighting in the pics does not show it, but they should look like these NOS Grilles that BB-Dave will never sell.

Thanks!

We discussed it when researching the grills. Looked at a lot of pictures. Chose to keep them all black.
Like how they kind of disappear when all black... just a matter of preference over correctness.

Member Realwing's restored grills look fantastic too. He restored his himself.
Just not the look we were going for. I go back to his thread often for tips and tricks... SRT8CUDA Build

Thats cool, As they say to each there own, right! Your grilles look Fantastic!! In my labor for mine it would have been worth it to have them do it in hindsight.

I like the look of the originals as the light from angles plays in them.

If you have lots of patience and hair then you “might” consider the ‘69 reproduction grille. I only purchased (the over priced) inner grille housing and experienced poor, poor quality and fit. Sounds like Totally Auto hit a home run for Cuda Ragtop!

Randy I'm still one the fence on painting my grille screens. Not sure yet.

I repainted my screens, after dry I used 600 grit paper on a block of wood to get the paint off the leading edge.
