I have a torsion bar that is seriously stuck in the lca everything is loose and just hanging there yes the pin is out i have tried beating it out i tried pulling it out i tried pulling it with ratchet straps I managed to be the pivot pin out so I went thru the back side and trued driving it out with a long piece of round steel and a bfh I tried pressing it out with a jack the only thing left I know to do which I really didn't want to is cut it and press it out with a shop press. I really don't want to buy new ones I can't afford them and it's really gonna set me back so please someone give me another idea lol here are some pics to help visualize what i mean!

You keep beatin' on it and the only thing you'll accomplish is to ruin the bar or the u.c.a. Ever heard of WD-40 ?

Dude iv been soaking this thing In kroil everyday for a week!!

looks like the jack is pushing the Tbar from the back side. My guess is the bar is twisted slightly in the hex and will need to be worked in rotation, a propane torch on the LCA and beat out from the front with a BFH.

Can you find someone with a real press? I'm sure that would move it. I wouldn't hesitate to put some light heat on the control arm as a last resort. Just don't get the bar too hot.

Heat the Hex on the LCA and continue to beat on it working it from side to side as well. 2 people would help. If you have clearance, Try to slide the LCA and T bar all the way back to the crossmember to butt the hex against for support. Support the back of the T bar as straight as possible while using the BFH.

I have some straight 890/891 A body 318 bars and non-sway LCAs in good shape if you ruin or cut that. I would change bushings which you were going to do anyway at this point. 75 plus shipping. going to be high to ship all but still a good deal.

Thank you guys I have tried heat in the pic of the jack just to clarify the lca is against the crossmember the jack is on the kframe And the steel bar is going thru the lca on the back of the tbar. I'm pretty sure it would work but it keeps kicking out on me

Take it to someone who has a press and is willing to press it the rest of the way out for a small fee. Make your own press using your bottle jack and figure out how to position some scrap material is such a way as to hold the parts in position while you press it out. Remember the series McGiver on TV?

try a 2 jaw gear puller hook the jaws on the control arm and the screw on the t-bar and push it out.

you could rent one from autozone or o'riellys

Thank you very much for all the advice I'm just gonna take grjammer up on his offer and just buy them off him iv spent way to much time and effort on that thing lol

The torsion bar is connected to the lca not the uca. Yea iv heard of wd40 i prefer kroil!

Had one in a '57 Dodge that would not come out of the rear socket. Soaked it in everything that anybody could think of, used a propane torch, press, etc. Finally took it to somebody with a real torch and got the socket (those are removable in the early cars) red hot and it finally came out with a hammer. It was a rust issue, but the rust also covered about 6 inches of bar so we replaced them. Your bar looks very similar on that end.

I posted it somewhere else but not here i figured id show you guys to here is a shop made tool I was using to try and separate the lca from the tbar!
