I never did get into car models but have been building plastic scale aircraft models for a very long time. The fun is in the build. Then they just sit on a shelf and collect dust. But it is fun to show them off.

Thought I would post up some of my builds here every now and then.

First one is a 1/72 Tamiya P-47 with an aftermarket detail kit and decals. Has been backdated from a D model to a P-47C.

I just love the P-47. Is my favorite airplane.

Very,very nice. Love the p-47.
The fun definately is in the build. Have gotten back into modelng myself recently dealng with an Achilles injury that has kept me off the cars for several months.
This is my first diorama work from scratch.

That's awesome. Nice work on them. Never did get into figures or diorama work either but just love it.

if you get the chance, there is a USArmy AF training video on youtube, which details field uncrating and assembly of a new P47 in the field with very basic tools. Fascinating.

My first aircraft model was a Spitfire.

Second was a P-47.

Third was a B-17.

I was in 1/72 for quite some time.

Got into big cargo planes and helicopters.

Did an AC130 gunship, a 737 dressed as a C40B, Jolly Green Giant, etc.

All in 1/72 and big for that scale.

Even did a 1/72 space shuttle.

Also did 1/72 figures and vehicles.

Just took an He111z and Gigant Glider pair to a local hobby store because I'm pretty sure I'll never get to those.

The next model I do will be a replica of my 73 Satellite.
