74 HEMI Dart Sport

Thanks for the specs....interesting.
You gotta be careful , camming a hemi. The valves will collide if u get too big on the cam. I`m sure ur engine builder knows this tho. Darn near brings tears to my eyes when I look at one ! LOVE IT !

Tim Banning is awesome. All his engines are equipped with custom ground cams of his specifications.

Famous Bob....thanks for the heads up on the cam size.....but never an issue in my mild 'lil coffee getter.

mzak88.....your Hemi even looks mean, when does it go in?

We ran a 785 lift cam dynamics roller for a while, had to back clip the valves for it . Were iron st.hemi heads tho.

Gonna be a while yet. Still taking the car apart. I know I'm working slow. That why I have the engine in the house, gonna be way to dirty in shop for quite a while.

Stage V heads are all 1.9'' valves as opposed to original 1.94. This is to prevent valve collisions. My heads have the 2.3 intakes and the afformentioned 1.9 exhausts

that ought to do it !

HDK is doing an install right now in a 72 Swinger / formerly an automatic car, with one of Tims / FHO Hemi monsters....coupled to a Passon 5 speed. Suppose to have the motor shortly, using my dummy block for test fitting the 5 speed and shifter hump/hole.

Are the dummy blocks accurate? Know of one I could score used?

my dummy block is a real cast block....unusable except for test fitting / mock up and door stop. Missing a chunk (removed to repair a different block I would guess) at the pan rail and has a couple of lifters stuck in it....perfect for what I use it for, test fitted into many a Mopar with it.

Mine came from Ray Barton many years ago.....I would think he has more in the same condition.

Yep, well aware of that. Dusters vastly outsold Demons so they felt the name and character on fender was steering sales away.

Nice HEMI !! what measurements up and down fore & aft are you using for alignment of motor and trans and are you using stock k member or going with Hemi Denny front suspension set up, drag link to oil pan clearance issues with stock k member, TTI has some measurements on there web site for headers they have which I'm kinda using on mine - 72 Demon.

Was kinda thinking about TTI's measurements to start. I have a set of those Hooker Super Comps for A bodys with 2,25" tubes. Im using stock k and steering. Tim was suggesting I do my best to use those headers- he would know, he built my beast. It may be interesting fitting those up. Show me some pics of your beast! I need inspiration.

I always read HEMI posts. I don`t have one now tho.
Weren`t the stage five real hemi heads , made w/ the valves spread farther apart than the orig. and 2-3-4 heads ?
There is a k frame mod. that I saw on one of Jim Hales cars that would sure help things as far as the oil pans go.

To my best knowledge the Stage V’s port locations are stock unless they are the raised port heads. Mine are stock location.

Demon B Leavin
That’s beautiful. What are your engine specs? I see you have stage v heads. How much power and where? What headers you using?

What tire size combo is that? I'm gonna minitub and relocate mine
Bare with me I know I'm moving up to 15x12 weld prostars, I have back spacing written down somewhere and tires will be M/T Sportsman 29/15/15, removed the tires and rims off Demon and rolled um under the Thunder Bolt
