Hey guys,

Looking to order a set of 1/2" offset shackles/hangers this weekend I've heard some are weld in vs others are not. Do the Dr. Diff ones require welding? I would call but it's a weekend and I'd like to place the order asap.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

I would think you would have to move the spring perchs to match the new spring location. Maybe that's the welding they're talking about

But wait. I forgot. lol you will have to cut off your original spring pads on the diffy, then move them in and re-weld them on the housing, in order for them to drop back on the leaf springs. Plus you need to measure the pinion angle too before you start, then make sure the pads are at the same angle when they get welded back on.

Knew about the housing, just wasn't sure on the body/frame side.

I noticed,

"PROMOTION: Get 15% off spring perches when purchased with any Offset Spring Hanger/Shackle Kit"

and they are only $15 bucks for the pair to begin with, cool.

Thanks for the heads up, noticed that the other day!

Yeah nothing on the frame, the front hanger bolts into the factory 4 holes with 3/8 cap screws attached. Mount the front spring eye first before installing.

I`ve posted this before, but, u can buy a new set of spring pads cheap from jegs. Lay one out and cut it in half lengthways, being very precise. I did mine on a big band saw. Fit it to the inside of ur stock spring pads and weld it up skipping around, to keep from getting too hot in one area". It will be the same angle if u do it right. All you`ll have to do is redrill the holes to match the offset kit u are using. no muss , no fuss !

If you install 1 side at a time, you don't have to measure anything, as the other leaf spring holds the loose perch in place.

Unfortunately, I'm out of stock, as the new mfg is having production problems.
