Well I’ve Never had an A-body but I’ve enjoyed reading about the builds y’all do around here. I’m just another old guy who’s finally trying on an A for size. I just picked a ‘64 Dart GT ragtop that someone started on and then stopped, leaving it to languish in the field, barren, apart, naked.
It looks bad, I ain’t lying.
Two factors have combined to make it seem worthwhile; it’s a convertible and most importantly, the guy had already acquired a bunch of spendy parts. This helps to ease the pain for me.
Me: I live in East Texas, car guy all my life, have owned 66,67 B-bodies, and back in the day, SS Chevelles and Olds products. My brother has had a slew of Mopars through the years, currently a Superbird AND a T/A... I’m extremely jealous. My Dad was a Mopar man for decades, big into Old Imperials plus the occasional Newport, Monaco, New Yorker.
I’ve got some catching up to do as I’ve not had a Mopar project in some years. So, enter the Yard Dart.
I have no idea how long it will take but it will keep me entertained.
The threads in FABO are a gold mine of info AND importantly, encouragement to get the next step done.
I’m looking forward to hanging around.
Ricky

coat of primer does wonders to set the project in motion. Start with a fresh pallette

Yard Dart. I like it.
Was thinking of calling my 76
The Lawn Dart...

Yours is decades ahead of mine,it spent decades in wet ground under the trees...

Ohhhh, those early A convertibles are sooo cool !
A friend of mine had one, back in high school. White w/ red interior.
Hope you have all the trim...

Hey Ricky. There's lots of early A's here so welcome to the club.

Gday Ricky, welcome to the site mate. :welcome:
Nice find, that looks like it'll stop you from being bored for a while, good to see that the majority of hard work has been done (removing the trim :D ).
Looks a like a ripper of a project. Its always good to see field cars being rescued.
