Hey everyone,

So the car i am working on at the moment has a painless wiring harness in it. Sadly the previous owners did a horrible job and ruined the harness. I have no idea what they did and I am just going to pull it out. They for some reason spliced onto the harness and did a bunch of stuff, it is a nightmare.

Now the question is that I am getting rid of the radio and a couple other components in the car. What would you suggest for a wiring harness? I plan to upgrade ignition and add electrical fan and water pump.

Start with a new harness.....again prob cheaper in the long run and less *** pain.

I like the EZ kit because it only has 12 circuits. Most of the stuff I do, the cars are quite basic. I think my 63 that I am about to do has only 6 from the factory. Like you, most of the older cars have been butchered over the years.

I went with American Autowire: Wiring Harnesses, Accessories, & Parts for GM Restoration, Modified Restoration & Custom Street Rod power plus series. Be prepared for days of cussing crimping and beer drinking. Get a nice set of crimpers and decide what connectors you are going to use. My only problem was where i put my fuse box my tail light wires were about 6 inches to short.

Crimping, beer drinking,? ?
You didn't have anything to do with the OP's car problem, did you ? ?
Crimping ? ! !,.
Mosta today's elec problems imho..

Yeah i crimped the connectors onto the end of the wire before i inserted the wire into the weatherpak connector. Maybe you shouldn't be such a tool and have a beer and calm down.

Look at the Ron Francis kits, too. They have several kits with a range of circuits. I use their kits for race cars and have found their tech support good. I like American Autowire for street cars.
