I need a lift!

-
I had a 68 Formula S. I have an e body right now, and seeing that car makes me want to sell it and get another FB.

I am in the same boat as you, I have a big *** garage, but 9”6 ceiling. I may need to do surgery on my ceiling as well.

I would get a full size before getting a small lift I think. I know you can store the small one when not in use, but I think that may be moot. Hell, you can park under a four post if needed.
I added a new garage to my house, but it has a 12" crock drain in the middle. The floor a lot fall to the drain. (We need to park inside for Ohio winters) I'm 58 this month and I'm done old floor jacks & jack stands. Hoping a mini lift would be a big improvement for me. Just want to slam this car out over the winter. No exterior paint, just replace inner fenders, motor work, suspension work, & go burn the tires off it this spring! It's my 2nd fastback Barracuda. I had a 68 F.S. 340 4spd blk on blk. Love your Cuda.

I did a LOT of work with cars on jack stands. In 2014 I built a 14' tall shop and bought a two post 10K certified Eagle lift. My only regret? That I didn't buy one 30 years ago. I'll never use jack stands again!
Agree, my current garage won't accommodate a full lift. Just need a mini for this project. Long term, man garage in the back yard with: full lift, toilet, shower, cable t.v., surround sound, sofa couch, and Farrah Fawcett Posters! !

oh man I want a lift so bad. cant decide between a 2 or 4 post. But lately I'm really stuck on a 4 post...I have my eye on a 14k Rotary 4 post.

As i mentioned before,i prefer the 4 post.
14k is double what the average user needs,9-10,000 lbs is more than enough for home use.
Balance is never an issue on a 4 post.what i like is the fact you can place tools on the deck, wheels also. Beats finding a place to pile tools.
Two post hoists need more concrete to mount it and for stability.
For front end work the 2 post makes work a little easier, but 4 post allows for jack placement virtually anywhere and i have used the deck as tie down points for pulling a part into place.

My hoist is the 9k Backyard Buddy, free standing. It has a wheel kit so it can be moved if necessary. I have pretty much used it daily for 4 years.

Can get the same result with a cheap set of taller jack stands.

Yanked My transmission twice that way.
I have a quickjack ( the heavy duty truck version ordered directly from the company). It's good... But I question whether a good set of kickstands wouldn't be almost a good. That said,I'm now thinking of a four post lift that I can put the quick jack on,when needed. Im thinking that might be the best of both worlds . our maybe I'm crazy

I have a 10'-4" ceiling in my garage. I have been thinking about a 4 post lift myself for several years now but I keep talking myself out of it due to how much room it will take up within the 2-1/2 garage space I have now even though it will allow me to get a third car in the garage at times. It will be tight but it will fit.
