Anybody into Valiant wagons for parts?
The Chico, California (Northern California) Pick-N-Pull has a 66 Valiant wagon, out in one of the Mopar rows of cars.
A pretty well equipped, optioned, car for it's day.
273 V8 2bbl. engine, Auto on the column, power steering, and even air conditioned.
Not rusted, or smashed.
Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

No, i don't go and get parts.
It's 100 miles away from me.

Dam...

I'm building a 66 Valiant wagon right now...

Could use all the V-8 parts...

Its hard to do. I still have an 87 lebaron turbo coupe fully loaded complete with full digital "glass cockpit" and talking car feature. i cant seem to part with it, so it sits.

I need to cull a few from the herd including this one. If you save it, and put it on here somebody would buy it. Lookit the patina on it. I can picture some cragar S/S wheels, duals with bright tips, a surfboard rack w boards, navajo blanket seats and a bunch of surf stickers in the back side windows.

the other problem with that is my family freaks out if I leave a 5 mile radius by myself, so two jumps and a hop to Sunny CA would not really be something I can just pick up and do. :(

Take one or 2 of em with you. Road trip. In n out burger all the way and a case of mountain dew lol.

and get a lecture the whole way on why I don't need more cars and "you should save more money" and "you are supposed to be an adult" blah blah ....its easier to pay and have it delivered here LOL

Your parents put a damper on the first part of your life and then your spouse ruins the second half and then you die

Yep my folks put a damper on first part of my life. The cars i coulda saved. The granny green 69 road runner 383 4 speed car with broken torsion bar for $900 comes to mind. Easy fix, dad said it was junk.

The white and black ragged out 70 cuda 383 4 speed vert for $2500 also comes to mind.

As does the 69 dodge coronet 318 2 door hardtop.

I vowed to have a decent sized shop and what i want. Now i am overrun w parts and cars, but i love it. I dont let my spouse put a damper on it either. It is what you make it to be.

Although you could decide to keep a few you really want to redo, and put the rest on fabo for project cars. I bet theres some young guns and oldsters looking for new projects. Look at it like your saving them for future generations.

What a waste. That wagon coulda fetched an easy $1,000 yet the seller of it to the pick n pull probably got $50 for it if they were lucky

4 reasons

Get it cheap,
flip it to save it,
make some money for use on your other projects
Keeps it hands of enthusiasts.

Somebody go save that whole car!!!!
Once the car is set out in the row, to be picked for it's parts, i don't think it can be purchased, "whole" anymore.
They do have certain cars for sale, for a limited amount of time, in the front of the yard, but once they get put into a row that's it.
This wagon is certainly destined to become a couple of little Kia's when it gets crushed.
This Chico yard is one of the smaller Pick-n-Pull's so they tend to keep Mopars around for 4, 5, 6 months before they crush the row.

why buy it in the first place if you didn't want to redo it
I had plans to redo all of the ones i saved, other than parts cars.
I know that over half the ones i saved were gong to be crushed (this was the early '90s), and as a matter of fact, the car crusher was there at the junk yard at the time when i made the deal and hauled them away ASAP.
I wish i could have saved more, but ran out of time.
Since then, i added more orphans to the collection by buying and trading etc.
Bottom line, my main goal was to fix up about 6 and keep them, and the rest would go as projects or parts after i went through them and decided what i wanted to keep.
I hate crushing anything, but it will eventually come to that as i get older.
Sadly, that is the reality that i face.
At least some of the parts and projects had a new lease on life and a chance to be picked over for parts.
However, as long as i'm alive, nothing is getting squished until it's chicken boned....................

Why not donate your coronet wagon to me, so you have room for this one?

Wait what?
So......... Did I hear you say you were starting to like me?..........
yes I'm being an azz again.lol.,

Thank you, Rainy.
I hope so too, but i am having some arthritis issues as i get older and it's very frustrating to let them all just sit..........
I got a thread on arthritis, I kicked it out, you can too. Kick it out early and the physical effects will be minimal. All my joints are returning/ have returned to normal
