Hopefully I can get pointed in the right direction here. I have a 91 LA 360 that might be turned into a turbo project on e85. More than likely I’ll run a GT45 turbo and would be around 600 hp. The heads are gunna be worked over and a boost friendly cam will be installed. I know the stock crank should be ok on 600 hp of use but I’d like to at least get forged rods and pistons. I cannot find just a set of pistons and rods without getting a stroker kit. If the block needs bored .030” that’s fine but I’d rather not run a stroker kit. Anyone have a link to some forged pistons and rods?

Scat I-beam and H-beam rods in 4340 material and Icon forged pistons in 2618 material. These are the brands I'm considering, I'm sure others will have varying opinions and maybe real-life experience.

Awesome that’s what I was looking for! Thank you! I was much more into Magnum engines than LA but I will be ok with the stock crank right? I see lots of guys use them but I’m just double checking on “longevity” with around 600hp on the street.

I understand the factory magnum rods are forged. Something to consider.

The factory rods are forged, but he wants a stronger connecting rod than those are.

Wiesco, scat rods, ohio crankshaft rods, k1 rods, Icon pistons, je,srp,ross,....plenty out there to spend on

They are but still get sketchy after 450 hp from what I’ve seen. I’m just looking for a better choice for reliability/insurance on my build.

I hear you. I'm looking to build a forged magnum to replace my existing stock bottom 5.9 turbo build but don't want to go stroker.
