Has anybody done a conversion to an electric steering set up in the cars?

I think I may have gotten an eye full of some of the stuff 65 Dartman is taking about? What I was readin was about taking them out of the new(old) electric cars (Prius?) And putting them in limp mode? Sounds interesting. If someone could dummie up the process maybe a little more than what I red or explained it different or maybe I just need to reread?
