I'm going to look at a sure grip carrier clutch type how do I know if it is good he's asking a 100$

is this broken cast iron? will it be an issue in the future?

Probably been that way since 66.

Buy it.

Put a clutch pack in it an use it for another 50+ years.
 
cosmetic, does not look structural as the rest of that series looks to be casting flash. See the mating surface is concentric , your only seeing a 1" edge.

Buy it, clutches are cheap and you can't rebuild one if you don't have one!
 
Would there be a rotating balance issue? Sorry to be a Dana Downer but I have wasted more money on "a good deal" that was not so good I am a bit jaded.
 
Even if it's not usable, it's worth 100 bucks for parts.
 
Balance not an issue. So close to axis and doesn’t spin that fast. Plus the weight would be less than an ounce.
