Just bought a 1970-440 Dart, and it sits way too low in the back. Plus the 440 torque may cause too much rear end wrap up. So to control the rear end , and get the body raised up slightly, I want to put in stronger rear springs. Any recommendations? Where do I buy Super Stock springs for this car? That might do it.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Get some air shocks, shackles and probably ss springs.would help bring it up.possibly get the springs re arched.

I ran super stock springs with Mopar SS shocks on the street with no issues. I believe I found the shocks at my local dealer.

What’s the intended use of the car? You gonna be racing it on a regular basis? Or are you using it more as a street car?

More street I wouldn’t go SS springs. I’d go with a espo which you can go +1” or +2” heights. Or the Eaton springs. Can get a big block spring from them that has a beefier front section that helps control wrap up.

If it’s more a track car then use SS springs with an adjustable shock. Can buy them just about anywhere. Summit, jegs,Mancini hell amazon May even have them

I have 002 and 003 ss springs on my 67 dart.
I jacked the rear up with longer shackles (here comes the nay sayers)
Moved springs inboard and stuffed 325 50 15 nitto tires.

Now the ride quality.
It rides better then my 2012 ram longhorn
Also rides better then my wife's 13 ford fiesta
Also better then my mothers 10 charger.
I have my dart in the BMW and Mercedes quality.

I also wonder if it's the stock seats that have spring in it rather than the dense foam of modern seats.

The wife is within days of going in to labour so she is very sensitive to bumps. She would rather ride in my dart with the ss springs. So dont believe everyone about the lumber wagon ride quality

I run the 002 and 003 Super Stock springs in my Dart Sport and i love them.
I got mine from Summit, and they are all i expected them to be which was to raise the rear 3'' on the passenger side and 2'' on the driver's side.
It now has a good rake to it and i like it because i'm old school.
I bought a brake hose from the body to the rear end for a Dodge pickup and went with the M.P. shocks recommended for the application as well.
I find that they aren't nearly as harsh as everyone says they are on the street.
Obviously, the handling around corners isn't good, which is to be expected, but i wanted the look and straight line performance that they were designed for.
If you want the rear to be even, just buy (2) 002 or (2) 003 ones.
They're pretty cheap too!

are you the lucky one who got your hands on this beast? Damn I love that car!

For springs, I hear a lot of positive reviews on Espo springs. I just ordered a set myself but don't have them yet. www.springsnthings.com

Yes that's it! Almost to Vegas now, running great! Had it up to 90 once!:steering:

Love it, when I saw that thing the first time I think I chatted the guy up for like an hour straight. One of my favorite "sleeper" builds. Will definitely be interested to see where you take it next, maybe start a build thread up. I saw it come up for sale a few weeks back and I was REAL tempted to inquire.

I been running SS 002 003 springs for a long time. The ride is totally fine and I dont even notice the off set higth in the rear.

Honest I figured they would have raised the car more that they did.

Granted this set is 5 or 6 years old in this pic but its seems about the same height as when I bolted them on. My old original springs were dam near recurved when I pulled them out...

Front end is set at factory ride height.
