I stopped by the TrickFlow tent at Norwalk yesterday hoping to get some pictures of the new small block heads but they didn’t even have a sample head. They are a very tight lipped company but he did say they wanted to do some upgrades before casting the heads. Wish I had better news.

Better to wait a little longer & hopefully we will get a better more refined cylinder head.

it took them forever to release the 240BB head for the 440. It's been arguably spanking heads that cost more. I'd say give them time. Rather they make it a world beater than some run of the mill chunk of aluminum

Ohhh I agree. I want them to research and develop a good head then go back to the drawing board and upgrade it with at least a 2.08 intake valve and 230 or so runner with porting room left. This head will be great for a lot of members but a lot of us already have better flowing Edelbrock and ProMaxx heads. This evening they sponsor a race for all the guys running TrickFlow heads or intakes. Winner gets a 500.00 TrickFlow coupon and 500.00 Summit coupon. I’m hoping they come out with a good small block intake down the road.

Better that than- “yeah,....we decided not to make them”

Not sure I get what you are trying to say. I said it will be a great head for some guys. It’s an advertised Head with flow numbers are 300 cfm. Edelbrock heads flow 243 out of the box but will flow over 315 with work.

He's saying it's better to hear them say "We're not ready" than "We're not doing it".

IIRC they had one there at the NMCA event when I was there. I just peeked at it quickly. Could be wrong though.

Are they going to be aluminum, for sure?

If they're made in USA and anything close to streetable.... hubba hubba

I can wait, I want a great head not an eddy head stamped trick flow....

They know we want it and they want our money so I think it will happen and if it dont no harm done...

I wonder if they're reconsidering the poor volume.
I wonder if they did some Dyno tests that ended up the same as the big mouths.

Now I'll have trouble sleeping tonite....

Calm down guys. It’s scheduled release was September and now it’s only October. We have seen pictures of them and at least on member has touched a set of them. TrickFlow was very surprised by the Mopar big block market so save your money so you are ready to jump. Improvements are good so maybe they are working on rocker alignment unlike Edelbrock is willing to do.

Sure any serious company has to make money in the end selling things, and yes Mopar volume will be rather low, I suppose.
Bad feedback from ONE or TWO dissatisfied customers can ruin things really quick in the days of internet...

Yep.

You can't rush a casting process. Plus production may have been influenced by the aluminum futures pricing going nuts with the tariff stuff. It may be the margine took a hit and they're waiting that deal out. Or using the time to better engineer or something. Regardless, patience will always be the best course.

Nope. Aluminum prices arent the issue. Currently at 93 cents a pound. 1 year low is 91 cents, one year high is 1.18. So aluminum prices have zero to do with it. Just trying to get the product better.
Same thing they said when i talked to them late this past summer

wonder if they relocated the rocker shaft stands for roller rockers
It would be nice if they qualified roller rockers for length for use with their heads- would save a lot of grief

Actually talked at length to them today. Nothing but good news
Think you missunderstood the guy at Norwalk, John
Heads still plan to be available around first of December
They made some design improvements since the head was first shown and they are complete.
A single plane intake will also be offered.
Next week at SEMA they will have the “ updated” head that will be shipped, and the intake will be displayed.
They will show and tell what was involved in the improvements

I hope so but we shall see. Like I said I’ve talked to them for probably over five years and they hate to release info.

This seems like so long ago. I was hoping for the release of a better flowing head by now like they did with the big blocks. The Edelbrock Victors are an expensive upgrade.
