Ouch! wrong air cleaner. Not big enough for a 2 barrel.

367-M/T with a 276/286/110Huges FTH; 700/750 in neutral, going as far down as 550 pulling itself along in 3.09 first gear at 4mph, on flat, level, hard ground, with 3.55s. Not so smooth anymore at 550

.645” lift roller 266/272@.050 106 LSA. Idles around 1100-1200 rpm in neutral. Not very smooth anywhere in the lower rpm range.

A little hotter cam , but idle is close to the same /1150..

Custom roller, 217/225 @ .050, 264/272 gross, .544 lift @ the valve. Idles @ 750 w 17" of vacuum, 750 in gear also because I have sniper injection and it keeps it at 750.

I don't know because I can't seem to get my frickin autometer tach to work with my frickin MSD ignition. It won't register. But I'm guessing around 900-1000 rpm idle in neutral. Hughes hydraulic roller, 576/576 lift, 252/258 dur. @ .050. Not sure on the LSA, I lost the cam card.

I think most tachs need an interpreter to run with that ignition,

Thanks AJ, It's a custom Jones cam... BTW I always like your analysis of cams, cars and so on. Perhaps you can do mine sometime....

The last two cams i ran in a stockstroke 340 both idled at about 800rpm or so in neutral.
242/248@.050
262@.050
Both nice and docile streetrollers. Its not realy rocketscience.

As for not being able to make a tach work with a MSD ignition? Just plug the tach into the tachsignal connector on the box its not that hard most who cant make it work just ignore the destructionsmanual and keep their tach connected to the coil and then blame the box.

That is precisely what I did. I know not to connect the tach signal wires to any MSD coil, they specifically state that in the instructions that I read over and over. The tach signal wire is plugged into the box and I'm still not getting a reading. Yes, I have a pos wire and ground hooked up to the tach as well.

Where was the powerband of that 262?

Then its either a faulty box or a faulty tach.
Im not trying to be a smartass, but i guess you may be avare of that there are endless amounts of people who refuse to read the destructionsmanual (im one of them untill i cant make the thing work or the part is so expensive that i can not afford to screw it up.)

As i remember it it realy came alive at about 4000 and the engine realy changed its tone at 4500rpm,from the seat of the pants it leveled out at about 7000 where i usualy shifted the thing but did not drop much even at 7500rpm but that was the absolute max.

Comp Cams XE275HL in a 340. Advertised 275/287 duration, .525 valve lift. 850 rpm in neutral.
