Shocks haven't a thing to do with ride height. A good shock will keep the car from bottoming during jounce, though. If it's too low, raise it up. Pretty simple.

May have to get a front end alignment after any changes in ride height. Good time to check the rest of the suspension & steering parts before an alignment as well.

The streets in my area suck as far as dips, bumps and uneven surfaces go, and I had the same problems until I installed 1.03 torsion bars and single chamber shocks.
The bars themselves helped to get the front end up a little more as well as not compressing so easily, and the shocks helped with front end dive.

Still I make an effort to avoid speed bumps if I can, and If I do have to deal with them I ease the front end down off of them to limit the compression of the suspension.
The guy in the SUV behind me can just wait.:D

Went out today and jacked up the car was going to try to adjust the torsion bars, but here's what I found...

Try to look on the bright side......you have a good start on rebuilding the front suspension. (Other side & other parts have just as many miles on them.) At least it wasn't a rusted/twisted mount in the crossmember.

^ I see what you did there... :p

Check out PST torsion bars, I believe you get a discount for being a FABO member:thumbsup:

Got my new 1.03 torsion bars, and installed the left once but it made no different in the way the car sets did I screw up installing them

install both of them and adjust accordingly. did you install it correctly? if the car sits low like that then the torsion bar mounts in the crossmember are probably rotted and spinning...
