Mopars with Big Daddy

FMA is the show
You have to have a good club
To sustain a good show
Be there Friday,Saturday,Sunday
1200 mile round trip
Lots of regular and special parts
The venue is secondary
The club is the show

Charlie S, thanks for the update on the show on the 4th. Sorry that the turnout was not better, so hopefully next weekend will be a larger turn out. It just amazes me that these clubs do not have a member or someone who would go to the different sites and post a short informative bit of information or link to their shows.

...and it will also hurt and/or be hurt by the huge Carlisle show in Lakeland that is on the same days next weekend.

Poor, poor, poor planning.

I had a scratchy throat and plugged sinus, so did not go. Thought I was getting a cold and didn't want to make it worse or be 2 hours from home and miserable.

How was it?

I will not be making it to the show this year. Sorry to all those that may want to get some wheels there.

The Wheel Guy....

I sure hope next weeks is better. I drove 3 1/2 round trip for nothing. I didn't even get out of my truck. Just turned around , and went home.

I agree....stayed 20 min and drove back home 2 1/2 hours. I'm thinking about going back for the one this weekend..... but I don't know if I can take being disappointed twice in a row.

You won't be disappointed
Same great show just
Different place

show was great!
great weather
large happy crowd spending $ in swap meet
not affected by other shows
cant wait until next year

I guess that I am just a bit jaded from attending other shows. Good turnout of vendors on Friday and Saturday. Started sprinkling rain a little before noon, but more of a pain. Stopped a little after 2 and just before 3:00 PM, it rained for less than 10 minutes probably. Everybody for the most part left at this point. Sunday was partly cloudy and windy. Still no foot traffic. Probably 25 to 30% of the vendors left Saturday afternoon. Sunday by 1:00 PM, probably closer to 70% gone.
I feel that if you factored out the new car classes, then the car count for the show cars were way off. The staff wants to do a good job, but I just do not feel that the move to the second weekend did them any favors. Two other major shows going on the same weekend did hurt them. I spoke to several vendors who reported very poor results and stated that they would probably not be back next year.
It would be nice to have a strong show in the Southeast, but the Farmington, NC or Chattanooga, TN. shows in May go up against each other and draw far more cars. Farmington has a huge swap meet. For whatever reason, the Florida show is going to need a major intervention to continue to survive as a show and not as a cruise-in.
