Ok guys this thing has been sitting long enough! My wife, (girlfriend at the time) bought me this car for a birthday gift the summer we graduated high school. We all have been through a lot and it’s been in our engagement photos, wedding photos, baby announcements and so on. Lots of memories with this car and my family, as well as spending time with my dad building it and making the changes throughout the years. It was last on the road on September 13th 2016. That’s the day I lost the engine in this thing at 1600 miles. Long store short got some heads built a motor and it ran great best of a 12.05 @ 111mph. But it didn’t last long when a valve retainer failed in the heads I had done. Guy didn’t want to stand behind it and I was starting a new carrier so it sat. Moved from storage to home and now finally showing it some love. I am putting together a basic stock 360 with good rings, head gaskets and studs and gonna hit it with some boost. This may start off slow and I hope I don’t bore you guys too much but at this point I have all the wiring stripped out of the car, and everything out of the way to move forward on the mini tub. I’ve got a buddy of mine helping me with some of the fabrication so I’m waiting to get it over to his place to start the cutting. Here’s a couple photos of what it was last time it was on the road.

Finished up scraping all the undercoating out of the wheel wells. A head gun and gasket scraper and it wasn’t too bad!

Very cool, looking forward to your progess, there's alot of good help here for boosted mopars. Dont hesitate to ask.

Thanks Guys! Will definitely post photos along the way!! Gotta give a shout out to Subcom for all the motivation on his build!

Nice car! I will be following along as well. I have a '64 Valiant ht, V8, 4spd with AC. I want to put a turbo on my 360 magnum and then drop that in.

Nice car! I saw it at the Graham show some years back. Looking forward to the turbo build. You're going to have to get creative on your plumbing in an early a-body.

Yes! That was quite a few years ago, I remember talking with you. Do you still have that radio delete plate you wanted to trade for?

Rock n' Roll! Another turbo valiant FTW!
Best of luck with the build.

Have you decide on a turbo yet? I think the ebay gt45 is a good starter but I'm considering swapping out to something different. I think the vsracing and on3 7875 might be better and a bit smaller package than the gt45. It's about $400 bucks though.

Yea one of the first items I got it’s a GT45 76mm, at the time I jump off the deep end and build a fully forged engine specific for boost I’ll look into a little bit different setup. What do you have for a converter? Also did you end up running -6 lines to your catch can? I’m wondering if I could get away with two -8 lines to the catch can.

Got the new fuel tank the other day, finally got around to un-boxing it and taking a look. Really happy so far with it. It is a tanks inc tank for the early a bodies, direct swap with a in tank 455gph and return all ready to go!

Is that one of the CXracing 76mm? Mine is just a 69mm eBay cheapie.
I went with Summit brand breathers on both valve covers and threw away the catchcan. They work great and I'm not leaking oil any more.
Converter is an off the shelf PTC 9.5". Flashes to 3500.

Ok guys I’ve got a little catching up to do. Got the engine back together almost ready to test fire bolted the spitfire headers on reversed to see if they would work. It’s doubtful the way the drivers side is pointing right at the motor mount I’ll take another look once it is sitting in the car. Also got the mini tub done by a good friend. We’re moving forward slow but steady.

Wow how time flys, still getting progress on the valiant but it’s slow. Running a business and the family seem to take up a lot of the “spare” time. Ran fuel lines started on the battery relocation. Was probably 30 mins from breaking in the engine when I found a small hole in the exhaust port on one of the heads, so working on getting another head worked up to put it back together to make some noise. Sent my converter to PTC with the changes I’ve made to the car and now going to be running boost they made some changes and swapped out the front of the converter to work with the new setup.

Making great progress! I'm eager to hear what PTC does to your converter. Sweet engine test stand!

Thanks it’s something we kinda threw together, didn’t want to try and break it in on a new wiring kit and Fitech in the car thought that points and a carb would be easiest to get it started and broke in. The converter is already back, they were not really detailed on the changes they made other than making a couple changes to work with the boost and changing the front half of the converter. It was $250 plus shipping for the changes. Figured now was the time instead of putting it together and not being happy with it. As you can tell I’m not in any kind of rush to get it going. Lol. Just hoping to get it done by spring.

subscribed. I have a 72 small block B body I want to turbo instead of dropping a big block in it.
