I like!!! Always have had a soft spot for AMC’s
Me too! I about bought one at a show last year but we just could not get together on price. About like always once my redneck pride got engaged I made an excellent short term decision and a very poor long term one. Should have paid the extra, the car was a nicely done big block.

I wish you lived closer. I would love to see it in person. Nice work. I worked at an AMC dealer back in the day. Don't see many around anymore. I'm sure you'll have to make a custom interior. That stuff is next to impossible to find now a days.

Cool!!!! Mark Donahue would be proud
Craig,
I am presently swapping a gen three Hemi into a 72 Demon. If you are into that kind of stuff per your note, putting engines where they don't belong! There are several of us on this forum doing it. We all have seperate threads for our builds. It is how I found this forum. Great bunch on FABO, wealth of knowledge. If you run into any kind of roadblock some one on here has been there done that and totally willing to tell you what they know.

yeah i pretty much have a dash and back seat frame haha , i had a new ididit steering column i ordered wrong for a past project so i was able to get it shortened down . Dash inlay ill be making out of aluminum to fit either gauges or digital dash and no idea what ill do on the rest of interior

luckily i was able to fit the 4l80e without much trans tunnel work , it physically fit but the adapter i put on for the front cooler line hit the tunnel so i had to make a pocket for it .
im kind of at a stand still for now as far as gauges and engine control because of costs and trying to figure out if i should go holley dominator or mopar crate kit with diabo trinity ex
I originally started the swap on a 72 duster but i didnt want to dump a bunch of money into body work and paint so i sold that and found the javelin .

This is badass! And its a gen 3 swap not Ls even better!
thanks , almost was an Ls swap but once i got the motor mocked up it didnt look or feel right and didnt want to be just another ls swapped car

Penski61,
REALLY COOL build! The Javelin is more than welcome here with that Gen3. Lovin' the fabrication work and how clean the project is coming out. I replied to your post of pictures to bring it back into focus after others posted their own pics in your thread. There should be a rule against that. The bottom side of your car cleaned up so well. What product (black) did you use on the underside. Looks real good!

thanks , it took a lot of work to get all the old under coating off since i didnt have a lift or do it on a rotisserie
i used the herculiner spray, looked real nice when it sprayed on so hopefully it lasts a while

That really is looking good! Because so much of your car is custom, I wouldn't sweat trying to stay with a stock interior. What's the point?
I see a custom 2 seater (ala AMX) with nice aftermarket seats.

yeah i wasn't sure what i was doing for interior yet except the seats , i had a nice pair of corbeau seats i planned on using but going to sell them and get another set with the slots for harness . im working on a roll bar right now , didnt want to run a full cage for an occasional track car but wanted some kind of protection

Glad you ditched the LS. Although i will admit, to "ME" it would have been better with an AMC 390 or 401, the new Hemi is pretty cool. This car will turn out nice.
