Many years ago (appx. 60), I met Tony Foyt A. J.'s father. He was building & maintaining those same cars in real life. I met A.J. & another driver Buddy Rackley who drove those cars. It was the highlight of my very young life, back then.

Cool! Mr. A. J. Foyt, Sr. was one tough customer!

And Buddy Rackley was my favorite driver at Playland Park in the mid-'50's!

doc540, That was about the same time frame. I remember Playland Park, & when Meyer Speedway first opened.

Also many years ago(about 50 or so), I remember hearing the normally aspirated V8's driving around the Speedway. Also climbing under fences and crossing the creek to get to Gasoline Alley to beg stickers from the pit crews and stuff. Sigh, those WERE the days!
