What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Fixed brake line. Not perfect but will do the job.

Bench bled master. Could possibly install motor this week.

Final piece done. Here's a tip... Don't ever stooped glue the script to the bezel. I thought I wouldn't get it back off without breaking it. Clear silicone will work.

Surfing the youtube channel watching rotisserie videos and taking screen shots. Need ideas for building mine. Think i have enough ideas now. Just have to get them outta my head so i can sleep.

Well, I don't get to finish the crossmember tonight. My son bent me up a piece of frame rail, but it ended up a wee but too wide. Oh well, new piece tomorrow for the rails ends.

He hand formed that? Needs a pat on the back regardless whether it fit or not.
My older brother used to build prototype pieces. Always two, throw away first one. Second is better, and usually takes less time.

Sorry, he works at a welding / fabricating shop. He made it on a break. He was complaining it was no good! I told him it's great other than too wide.

Now you can tell him, "you got a brake when you got this job!"

:)

My old boss loved that line....

Well, my son called me from his work and told me they broke the break! That meant no new section for me. Oh well, I did what anyone would do. I cut and narrowed the chunk he built yesterday. I had to remove about 3/16". Then I fabbed up the rail ends and installed them. It's hard to get inside but I welded in and out to be sure it was strong. Not as pretty inside, but that's OK. The car sits on solid front chassis again! Woooohooooo!

Thank you. Actually, a better way to put it would be what I'm "willing" to bring back to life! This is a purple 70 RT, big block car. So I am just making sure it will be revived by somebody. I figured if I didn't do this stuff, it would likely end up as number switched somewhere sometime. So now it isn't to unrealistic of a project for someone.

The rail on the rear passenger side was rotted at the curved section. Fortunately the parts car had a decent donor piece for me. Out with the crusty and in with the old but good! The back ends of the rails still need attention like most Challengers, but I'm not doing that. The next owner can take care of those. This car is now sitting on solid rails.

Well then again maybe we did. Did not seem that high and the garage door was open.

Just got mine in tonight with the help of DARTGAME.

Went pretty smooth.

That looks like it worked good. Kinda deceiving though. Didn't look like it would fit between the rails!

Nice thing about this lift is you can adjust the width between the rails. It only has two positions so I add one position in-between those. It gave me about 39” between the rail channels iirc.

Splash guards gave us a little fit and tranny mount had to be wrangled a bit due to the motor being very slightly off kilter in the K-memeber. I’ll get motor leveled out this weekend and black out the headlight/grill area.

The pneumatic safety release is s pain in the *** though.

Took a road trip this weekend (420 miles roundtrip) and picked up a 440/727 combo for the boy's car ('70 Dart). It came out of a '78 Dodge RV with low miles. Gonna need to find a long tailshaft for it at some point. Jake turns 15 in October and has been working hard to pay for this car on his own. He's kicking butt so far and is already an excellent driver.

That is just about the coolest thing ever.
Great job and nice dart!

Snag. K/H disc setup I got didn’t come with the elusive factory lower ball joint bolts. Ones laying next to spindle are 1/2in drum bolts.

Had to order 9/16-18 x 2-1/2” bolts. Might need 2-3/4 inch with the locknut.

Managed to get crossover lines on except for one line that had a bad really bad flare. Returning it for a new one. Had to fab up a brake hose bracket for the righthand caliper since it was missing. Used the old drum bracket.

Will have to wait til next week for bolts and new line. I’m ready to get this puppy on all fours so I can start the SF connectors.
