Its Not A Posi

Didn"t Chrysler change their nomenclature for the sure-grip differential later on?

For example, the fender tag (now a decal on the underside of the hood for model year 1996) on my Dodge Dakota lists the option as: DSA Limited Slip Differrential, no mention of sure-grip.

The abbreviation for limited slip differential is LSD, thought that was a drug until today?

The Fabo posse is coming after the posi talkers.

Now I’m really confused. Can somebody help me?

Is it a sure grip because it’s a Chrysler?

Is it a Trac-Loc because it’s a Ford axle?

Or is it a “Posi” if I’m at a car show? Lol

Sorry. I couldn’t resist. Lol

P.S. stay tuned for pics of 8.8 trac loc, sure grip, Posi, clutch and spider gear replacement. Lol.

A local guy has a 71 Challenger and whenever he shows it he is quick to point out that it is one of only 465 produced and it's still got the original 383, Muncie 4speed and a 4:11 posi rear end. I have explained to him several times that he has a New Process A-833 transmission and the rear differential is called a 4:10 sure grip. Yet, every summer he tells as many people as will listen that he has a Muncie and posi.
He wants me to work on it occasionally and I replaced a leaky fuel pump one time and put on some correct plug wires another time. He wants to hang around while I work and blah, blah, blah about how wonderful he and his car are so I politely decline. Plus, his posi drips on my shop floor!

Had a guy tell me that he had a six pack set up on his Pontiac.

I asked him how he modified a Mopar intake to fit his Pontiac engine. I was met with a blank stare.

Somehow "440 tri-power" doesn't have the same ring to it!
