Noooo! This can't end like this. I need to see how the 4 speed setup fit with the 340 manifolds.

I wanted to see the final outcome.

Your timing is perfect. I actually just moved the car from storage to my new house ( old but new to me)...AND have a fresh 340 waiting. I need to post a better update. I will work on some pics and more details for you guys. Thanks for reading,

So here is a quick update on 2017/18,
I finished the floors, frame connectors, suspension and had a 340 rebuilt. Then work went to hell, and i had to move as 4 people and two cats didn't fit in our old house. Long story short, moved and finally almost unpacked. Moved the cars over today.

For the 66, for now given i am way behind schedule, i am keeping it automatic. I still want the 4 speed, but i want to drive it asap. To get the car running i need fuel system, exhaust, radiator, run brake lines and some minor wiring.

Stay tuned.

Cool build, can't wait for the updates.

I cant believe how long this is taking....but engine in and running...brakes, fuel system done. Cooling system and exhaust are pretty much all thats left to get it driving again.

Wiring also a mess and needs sorting.

Getting there...

I think i am going to spring for the bergman power steering kit. The 24:1 manual steering is not super fun.

So at this point the car is 90% done. Over the years i have replaced floors, added frame rail connectors, full suspension rebuild with all ffi and moog upgrades, upgraded to lbp all around, 8.75 rear, 318, etc etc

Pending to dos:
Heater core
Kick down cable
E brake cable
Ps kit-- going with the borgeson from BAC
exhaust

Never ends...but getting there.

What would a mopar project be without a nest of some sort.....ps the heater core dimensions are all off and the replacement didnt fit. I i also had to patch part of the inner cowl with fiberglass....the whole pass side cowl was full of mouse nest.

Anyone else getting some garage time in before thanksgiving festivities start? I cant wait to upgrade to the BAC steering kit. Peter is a good dude def look him up if you're considering the borgeson upgrade.

Well...nearly 9 years later and it finally runs drives and stops on its own.

Still sorting out shake down runs but man it feels good to have it back on the road!!

Very cool little car. Reminds me of my "runnin and drivin" thread with Vixen. Nice work!

So one thing i wanted to do wad keep a price tally to compare to just buying done. Obviously buying done could be cheaper and shiner but this was more about the experience.

Here is the tally using a mix of todays prices and or what i remember paying.

Frame connectors 250
8.75 housing 400
8.75 489 case w new gears ans suregrip 1000
Lbp axles 350
11in drum brakes 300 all rebuilt
New leafs 350
Mp 1.1 tbars *proxy price 395
P/S conversion kit 1000

Rebuilt 727 2000
---pending install

:)

Shoulda dropped in a disc brake narrowed ford 8.8 out of an explorer. If you got the right one, it would come with good gears and a locker. My explorer 8.8 was $200 from the junkyard. Came with 31 splines axles, 3.73s and a locker. I put $300 into it with new clutches, bearings, and brake parts. $500 out the door.

Yeah i bought the rear prob 15 years ago before the 8.8 swap was a thing. But agreed.
Go get one, and sell the 8.75 for a mint now, and get rear discs as a bonus. From the look of the front rims, you got them on the front as already. BTW car looks great.
