Is anyone planning to attend all or some of the Power Tour this year. My father and I are planning to complete the long haul, all 7 days in my 66 Barracuda that has not been on the road for almost 3.5 decades. As a disclaimer we are not roadkilling it, I am going through the car repairing stuff.
HOT ROD Power Tour stops and dates:
• KICKOFF on Saturday, June 8: zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC.
• Sunday, June 9: Martinsville, VA, venue TBA.
• Monday, June 10: Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN, a first-time venue for the tour.
• Tuesday, June 11: Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY, a first-time venue for the tour.
• Wednesday, June 12: Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, IN.
• Thursday, June 13: Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, IN, a first-time venue for the tour.
• FINALE on Friday, June 14: Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, OH.

Only if it were closer to me! Bit of a haul from the west coast lol. How much are the tickets this year?

Did it for 12 Years.Last was 2007. It sure is a bucket list item.Had a blast every year. That looks like a good route this year.

Did a few legs of the 2012 and 2017 Power Tour and had an amazing time.

Last year my buddy Chris and I did the entire tour, 3000 miles round trip in my '69 Dart. We had an absolutely awesome time.

Go to meet up with a really great FABO member Dick (3rdLM23P9) in Toledo on our way down to Bowling Green.

We had such an amazing time last year we decided to do the Long Haul again this year.

Really looking forward to cruising with 3rdLM23P9 from INDY to Norwalk this tour.

It ended up costing us around $1200 US each for everything (hotels, gas, food, entry fee, beer money) and it was worth every penny.

How much of that was beer money? Great picture Ed (don't think I saw that one before!), you and Chris look like you were having a great time!

Dick

That great to know, we have done small parts but never the entire event. I have reserved my hotels, some areas were filling up fast. Hope to meet up with you all somewhere along the way.

Despite the awesome beer prices in the U.S. (30 pack of cans for $15 as opposed to $52 for a 30 pack in Canada) we took it pretty easy on the beer.

Nothing worse than driving in an uncomfortable car with a hangover.

We did have an absolutely amazing time!

Oh my that's super expensive!

Sounds amazing. Can't this year but plan to see you off in concord this year.

On my bucket list . Have fun . My friend did it 3 years ago with his son . Loved it . My only comment would be : prepare for a grueling event at high speed . Everything must be perfect mechanically . Go get 'em !

#$%/=&!!!!
I'd love to do this with my gearhead son but he and his wife are expecting a baby girl June 9th. Only our second grandchild. Its almost a perfect route for me as it ends in Norwalk, only an hour from home.
I'm thinking I can still do the final 3-4 days though.

I did the long haul in 2005, had an absolutely amazing time! Started in Milwaukee Wi. and finished in Kissimee Fla. won a brand new Eaton Tru-Trac diff in Tallahassee. Went to Daytona after, saw the Nascar museum and track, got to park the Dart on the sand, only a few yards from the ocean, that was incredible. Major highlight was Garlits museum in Ocala, must see for any true gearhead. I would love to go again, but this year is not possible, aiming for making another run in a year or three, wife is on board, so that's a great start.

YEP - I remember seeing your car last year!!

Me and my buddies plan on doing it (Long-Haul) again this year - we had an absolute blast as last year was our 1st year but the best part was every night at the hotel parking lot.

What were you driving?

We took over 2000 pictures, so I might have a picture of your car.
