Indianapolis, In trade show and swap meet

I did ok. Got some 1.6 rockers from Mancini. Some marker lights for my 71 dart and picked up some stuff from Van's auto.
I got my mirror from Van's. They had lots of cool stuff, but were completely uninterested in waiting on me. I had to come back to them 3 times before they acknowledged I was even there. Doesn't matter though, the mirror I got was better quality and about 40$ cheaper than the other vendors had!

I didn’t have a spot, it was all in my truck. My 11 year old son was walking around with a sign on
That’s likely to have been a LARGE part of your problem. I was there 5 hours and noticed no one with a sign

Made my annual trip to pot hole hell USA today as well.
Should have known it was going to be a bad day when a homeless dude pissed his pants about 4 feet away from me at the McD's while getting breakfast.
Was mostly disappointed this year. Lot of the big vendors were absent. Herbs Parts wasn't there and Mancini's was just a wide spot.
Pickin's were slim at best. Lot's of old rusty crap and nothing useful.
I'm not sure if the threat of bad weather kept alot of vendors away, but it may be the case. You'd think the crap weather and poor turn out at Nats last summer, vendors would be eager to recoup that loss. I know I sure thought about it.
I'll go back again next year, I'm going to write it off as bad timing with weather.
And next year, I'll make sure I stop for breakfast before I get to the hood.

Yeah I know of one routine guy local tonme they skipped it this year. Didn’t want to tow an open trailer full of parts back home to KY in possibly 3-8 inches of snow that was previously forcecast

You must've stopped at McDonald's on 38th street!
I wouldn't stop there if I was starving! NOT a real good part of town.

It was just up the street from the fair grounds.
The guy came in, stumbled around, kicked his shoe off and started picking thru the trash. He walked over to me and straight up pissed his pants. He smelled so bad my wife and I coudn't eat any more and threw what was left into the trash. Of course he went right after it. He didn't get far, the Mgr came out and ran him off. But he didn't go far.
But yeah, we felt like two snow flakes in a mud puddle.

Yeah, that's the one. Don't go there. Ever.

Now you tell me!
Yeah... in the future get as far away from 38th street as possible before eating. Or well before getting out of your vehicle.

And I’d advise getting tested after eating there

If you go west on 38th street to just outside I465, there are some decent places right there. McDonald's, Burger King, and some better restaurants. Its about 10-15 minutes west of the fairgrounds, straight down the road.

I should rephrase that to say 38th and Keystone lol.

We ended up at hooters in greenwood. Hadn’t been in years

Don't stop anywhere on 38th street between I465 west and the fairgrounds. Murders happen frequently.

Yep. That’s why I pack heavy when I go to Indy. Full combat load for this Army guy

I got an FN FAL with a 16" barrel that occasionally travels to the bad parts of town with me.
It’s one of several reasons I don’t go to the state fair anymore. Too dangerous

Duke boy, you live around here? There's a pretty decent cruise-in in Avon every Saturday night starting may 4 at the Lowe's.

Just south of Columbus. I’ll have to try to hit it up. Dart won’t be ready by then but my polara should be
