New to the site and A body's. Been reading up and lurking for quite some time now. Finally found "the perfect" one, for me least!, this last week and drove from Northern California to Vancouver WA to get her. 1972 "Gold" Duster, got it from the second owner. Slant 6, auto. Runs and drives great!!

Plan is to replace carpet, reupolster front seat, I'm having a hard time finding a snake/reptile skin vinyl top but id like to replace it or preserve it. Disc brakes up front and keep a eye out for a 8 3/4 rear end

Nice condition! I think Duster bodies are so nice that with a little front end and rear end styling, they would fit in today like a modern Challenger

Thanks everyone! In all honesty its alot nicer then I expected. When I talked to the previous owner on buying it, he made it sound like it needed quite a bit of work. I was expecting to rebuild the carb, change belts, brakes etc. It ended up being a turn key driver. Theres a little body work that needs to be done, below the driver tail light where the bumper jack slipped, and a dent in the pass door but not too bad for a 47 year old car! I'm sure I'll be starting a build thread soon eniugh!

Welcome from so. Cal enjoy the madness and ALL the knowledge these guys have to offer !

interesting how they used the same trunk mat pattern and material in 72 as in 67 and no one reproduces it!

Did you ever find a source or resources for replacing or preserving the snake skin vinyl top?
