Hi

I got a 73 Duster with a V8 K-member whick is a Spool type and I want to put in my B engine. I called Schumacher and their mounts are on back order, with that said any other alternatives? I really don't want to put ears on the waterpump cause of rattling, Anyone out there have any of those mounts that I can buy? Any help will be appreciated I would like to get the car on the road.

Thanks

Classic Industries has them listed. They may have them in stock.

If you are using a DC type of K member with the spool mount brackets moved back to the correct location for a big block then you can use stock motor mounts. You don't need to buy the Schumacher poly mounts, just buy replacement spool mounts from a local auto parts store. If you are trying to do a conversion using a SB K frame then you'll need to buy conversion motor mounts.

Hi Andy

That's the road it looks like i'm going to go with because I can't seem to locate conversion mounts anywhere. Another option is to put a QA1 k-member if it will accept a B engine, A further option is to reweld the perches on the spool type k-members similar to the DC type.
Thanks for the info and for pointing me on the right track. If you get a lead on mounts or K-member please contact me.

Watch my videos. It's easy to build a DC k-member. Then all you need are the 74-78 passenger car big block motor mounts.

Watch the videos and then go after it if you have the tools and the talent. If not then maybe find someone local who can do it. If that doesn't work out then box up your K frame and ship it to Jim and let him build you a DC type K frame.

Just did this on my 73 with the Shumacher mounts on a Slant K. Used the reniforcement weld on kit and mods. One thing to note is dip stick placement. Had to do a bit of grinding one one of the K ears, no biggie though.
