Any one interested in the oiling mods I did?

I have found Sanborn's Oiling Mods with pics. They were saved on my computer.

I have saved it a pdf file with pics. How do I upload it?

As far as the photos go if a mod could move them to the forum server that would be great. It's been long past where I can edit the posts and add the photos myself. They are hosted on picturetrail.com and that account may be going away soon and so will the photos so if anyone could help with that it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Good to see your back. Hope your doing well.

It would be sad to see yet another grate thread Damaged do to picture lost. A picture is worth a thousand words and all. Hope this thread can be save before that time................

That's great news. That is a great thread that is missing the pics.
I am sending you a pm.

Looks like I will be taking my fresh motor apart anyway to look at the oiling system......why not? More info is generally better! Besides, enquiring minds want to know!!

The last 5.9 I worked on only had 6mm passages from the mains to the right side oil galley but the one before it was 5/16.

If either of you could PM me, I'd like to get that PDF so I can archive it. All the stuff on moparchat is long gone.

Ok my inbox is clear now. I took pics of the PDFs and posted it, but if you still want the original PDFs I can email it to you. The pics will probably be a little clearer.

Yellow Rose posted in Krooser's build thread

To get the oiling correct on Chrysler rockers with Chrysler oil timing, you MUST apply machinists bluing and then assemble every rocker on the shaft with soft springs holding the valves on the seat. And the adjusters need to be removed.

With that done, you need to look through the hole in the rocker arm that feeds oil to the adjuster and cup and you MUST see the hole in the shaft through the hole in the rocker complexly. The hole in the rocker must be 100% open to the hole in the shaft.

If it lines up, you don't need pushrod oiling and all you are doing is increasing the the needed lil flow the pump has to put out.

If the holes don't line up, or you can't see them, you need to stick a small scribe into the hole in the rocker (while making sure the valve is on the seat and the rocker is at zero lash) and scribe onto the shaft where the oil hole needs to be.

You can not groove the shaft or anything else. You must have full pressure oil flow out that hole while the valve is on the seat and you can run the RPM's as high as your testicles and/or wallet can handle.

If you do that, push Rod oiling becomes an redundant unnecessity. And push Rod oiling is no better if the oil timing to the adjusters is correct.

I'm a little confused myself.........

I have some in the shop. I'll take pictures of both a W2 set and a OE set.

All the T/A shafts and W2-5 stuff has oil holes in them to feed oil to the adjusters. Would have been nice if Chrylser had gotten them close to where they should be.
