My poem and rhyme writing has inspired you I can see, but you need a small block to join this party... Also I'm glad 318hasvalvesthatwillfly's less than adequate poems did not discourage thee... I'm sorry your big block cannot join this fight, but I can tell you my big block inside my small block brings me much delight... You boast your big block is fast how about posting a picture of your last pass...???

I had thought about that. How much of a pain in the *** is it to get one out? With out destroying the car!
I had a rusty front frame rail I boxed it in and welded a couple patches over and around the box to give it strength it's not the prettiest thing but its gonna be under the engine noone will ever see it. I bet its stronger than the original one lol

Bring that big block on over an join the fun. I'd like to see it run. It may be slow or it may be fast. Come on over it will be a blast.
We don't shift like j par. I have an automatic in my car. If ones car should break there's no need to cry. 318 will buy you fries. Cheese fries that is or curly or chill or whatever is to your taste. Come on over an let's race.

It won't be rusty much longer lol. Its getting there. I'm fortunate that the floors ain't gone I redid the quarters and trunk years ago when I painted it the first time.

I redid the passenger side floor too back then the drivers and the back is still original.
The body is rock solid no rust there.
I'm about to order my crank kit, cam and pistons. I'm hoping to get the 360 dropped off at the machinist next week I'm just waiting on my socket to remove the oil plugs. And I'm still working on porting my heads! I'm gonna work on them again in the morning when I get off work.
I wish I wasnt so far away from you guys I'd love to join y'alls race! I would say I could just join in with a slip but I don't have no quarter mile track near me!

I drive almost 1 hour to the track. I race my cars the way I drove them.

Do you drive your car to the track? Or trailer it? Seems risky to drive it if you break something you will be stuck at the track Haha..
One thing I have to do before I go to the track for sure is to replace my 71/4. I know that the 360 is gonna eat it for lunch very quickly. I'm kinda second guessing my 8.8 also because of the 3.73 gears. I was talking to another abody owner he has a 4speed with a 81/4 with 3.55s and he said he can't drive his on the interstate it turns to many rpms at 70 mph. That worries me because the 3.73 will be even higher. Idk what the final gear difference between the torque flight and 833 ?

as I just said, I drive them to the track and race them as driven. Over 20 years ago I used to trailer them, but havent' in over 20 years. Never been stranded..... yet. I've driven them with 4.30's, 3.91's, 3.55's, 3.23's, 2.94's, 2.76's, 2.45's.... LOL

I find that amazing that he turns too many RPM's with 3.55 years.
That was the highest gear that they put in a Dana 60. And they used them in trucks and cars and in muscle cars along with 4.10 gears.

Put a taller tire on it and drive it like you stoled it.
 
That's badass! I have to give it too you! Lol when and if I race mine I will probably trailer it if I can find one. I don't have a trailer I have been looking for a cheaper used one. I don't plan on racing enough to justify buying a nice one lol I get to the track tho and that all may change lol. If I get totally addicted I will buy another car tho because I don't want mine to be a race car! It's a driver I want to drive it daily to work or whatever.

my favorite driving to the track is 2.45's...… my favorite at the track was 4.30's.. :D's

So a taller rear tire will lower top end rpm?

My favorite gear is the 3.91. However I did take the 5.13s out of the dart and put in 4.88s. I think that's just a Jim Dandy Street gear. We'll see how it runs with them and probably switch out to the 4.56s and try them for a bit.

I don't know everything about your engine, but you over gear it, it will slow down. I pulled 4.30's once for 3.91's and the ET/MPH stayed 100% the same, behind a mild 360
