search Mecum or Jackson Barrett action sites for sold prices. or get it appraised by a appraiser that does insurance appraisals.

how many cars do you see sold on this site for the stupid money? they have to be really special in terms of options and condition to bring top dollar.
I did as you asked...…. here is a SOLD Demon at Barrett Jackson - 40k -

the only thing that would add more value to the 72 Demon here is if it has one of the last forged crankshaft 340 motors in it.

that is a special and rare car, matter of fact its an oddity and should command that kind of money. nowhere near a like comparison to a 72 Demon.
yeah, but you see the point. I guess we could go back and forth forever, I stick my guns that factory H code Demons in number 1 condition are a strong 25k -32k, depending on options.

Yes the 72 Demons were supercharged. 71s were 6-pack cars.
ok, I didn't know that. Thanks. Neither here nor there, it still don't change what I think, though, on the price of Demons.

just that it was a grand spaulding car made it worth more money. same goes for yenko, motion and nickey chevys and holman moody fords.

there's one thing we agree on willrun, we both will not pay $6000.00 for that demon.

If it was closer, I'd look at it. A lot of "if's" though. IF it was rock solid underneath, IF the motor turned over, IF there was a sure grip in it...... if all those "if's" checked positive, and lastly..... IF I was in the market for one, I could see an offer in the 5's ..... maybe offer 5 and settle on 5300 or something.

Those auctions typically have higher priced and higher desiresble cars. 72 340 cars don’t show up at auctions as the much more popular 69 GTS. Smaller sample sizes will skew comparisons.

Are those auction house condition scales indicative of their true eyeball close condition? The auction write-ups and pictures are worlds apart from true reality.

Commonplace Appraiser’s typically used for insurance purposes are rarely accurate on these extremely specific and volatile markets.

I agree 69 GTS 340 same level of desiresble options is worth more than a 72 Demon 340. But I’m not buying 55% less for the 72 at the 1 and 2 conditions. Also that % gap changes per conditions. It’s not a simple straight line

I think it is worth 6K if like stated above, if it is a solid car just needing resto.
