Del does not follow his own advice, AKA Cummins Whale

You did good on that one just the running motor will catch $5k to $7500 around here.

Well it's home and paid for, my bank has the drive-up open 9--1PM. Funny thing is the (really hot) little gal did not seem to have a way of issuing a bank draft/ cashier's check but she had no problem handing over 5K in green. That is the most money that went through my hands the fastest, I've ever had, in cash.

Congrats, Del. But I must concur, pics of the really hot little gal would be good. Just drive back Monday and tell her that a bunch of pervs on an internet forum want to see her. lol

The heater is "crazy" I'm guessing vacuum pump problems.
No vacuum controls, all electrical. Likely a mode/temp door actuator, sold a ton of them over the years.
I already found some advice on the www that you should watch the lift pump pressure to prevent failures on the injection pump
Be real careful of the lift pump going bad! You won't even know it went until injector pump craps out on you.
There was a TSB out there once upon a time that moves the lift pump to the tank like a normal fuel pump. If you have that set up, you should be good.
Have fun with it. I've kicked myself in the *** several times since last summer. I let a damn nice 07 4X4 4dr w/98K get past me. I should of just ponied up and bought it. I haven't seen one that nice since.

Yeh I found that on the www already I may add a gauge/ warning setup on that

Well it's mud, mud, and more mud, but I got the really nice commercially built rack off (likely sell it) and was gonna remove the 5th wheel mount but I think I'll torch/ plazma the bolts

This is sposed to be a "local" rig and there doesn't appear to be ANY rust issues. Underside is nice except for a bit 'o dirt and just a film of that. In other words it has not been mired down in some hole

I just had to.........the fuel warning was dinging, so I illegally (no plates) drove it a couple miles up to the "gas" station and bought 10 gal---my first time ever putting a diesel nozzle in a rig

Made some minor headway today. Removed the fifth wheel brackets from the bed, which required removing the (very heavy) spare

AND I may have fixed the heater/ AC. Vacuum line dropped out of the vac pump connection!!! I havent driven it, but started it up, warmed it and moved it, and it seems to work "as expected." AC compressor cycles, so it's low on refrigerant, but not completely out

Still not sure on the oil leak. It does not seem to have blowby, but it has a phony plastic breather/ vapor separator catch can up front. It had maybe?? 2-3 tablespoons of oil in there, which I drained. You are supposed to drain it 'every so often' What a POS!!!! Chrysler Fiat/ Cummins? YOU COULD NOT AFFORD A REAL CAN WITH A DRAIN PETCOCK??

The dealer moved the lift pump to the fuel tank in my 02 and my fuel pressure went down. I ended up removing the pump in the tank and upgrading to a medium price fass pump and mounted to the frame.

^^I forgot to look this morning and see if it looked like it had been modded. I "have a lot to do" LOL. Have to get the camper/ stuff out of the old truck, and the mud, the mud, THE MUD!!!! (And it's gonna rain..................)

My 01 24 valve was a much better truck than my 08 6.7. You got a good deal.

Correction on year of Truck. Been a long time ago.

Got plates and insurance taken care of today, ran out to Post Falls and back, some errands. Really "warming up" to this, the torque is incredible. Assuming no big troubles I'm sure I'll like this. Got the old "White Whale" on the hoist--to pull the winch battery cable and backup camera wiring out, and got the little camper removed. It will be up for sale in a few days
