Not going to bore anyone with the step by step pictorial instructions. This is mainly to show that the 09-10 Jeep manifolds actually work. Are they a true bolt in? Not quite, but, it's as close as you're going to get, without spending your life savings on TTI's. As you will see in the pics, the outer tube of the steering column needs to be trimmed back. I went as far back as possible. Wound up being like 3 1/2-4 inches. The column shift lever is in slight contact with the exhaust gasket heat shield. Biggest fab job was the coupler. It had to go. Just no room for it. This is a manual set up. 2 inches added to actual steering shaft, then collar welded over that for strength. U-joint coupler welded on end. Plenty of room for lead pipes to go down and back. Hope this information helps out.

Hope so. Stock 04 bottom end. Eagle heads, 6.1 cam.

I hope you post details of this. I may not ever afford or live long enough, BUT!!.....

I guess the biggest details would be the list of parts. MSD Hemi 6 ignition, TTI engine mounts, Arrow/Prefix Cascar intake manifold, Milodon pan and pick up, car front acc. drive, 09-10 Jeep exhaust manifolds. This has been in the making for over two years. I wanted it to be the first Hemi swap I did. However it wasn't. Paying customers who wanted the same thing came first. The car had a 318/904 combo in it before. A compression and leak down test showed it wouldn't be long for the world. I droped the old engine/trans combo out the botom. Car also had power steering and brakes. I was seriously considering keeping both, but, I knew room between the box and ex. manifolds was gonna be tight. I think the brake booster might have cleared. Servicing plugs/coil packs might have rquired removal of booster to do so, though. Kept the column shift. Had a 1968 904 mated to the back of the Hemi before we tore the car apart. My son and I did the swap over Thanksgiving weekend. Was hoping to have it driving under its own power by that Sunday. Well, it's a week later and we're finally there, lol. Got most of it done on schedule, it was little things. More details on the engine, 2004 Durango. New pistons and rings. Reused all bearings(over 100k and they were perfect yet). 6.1 cam installed at 113, and 6.1 pushrods. Bone stock used Eagle heads and valve train. Obviously have to use Eagle valve covers, too. The Cascar intake was kind of a mistake. I ordered the carb version. I received the fuelie version. That's why you see a carb and fuel rails. Kind of a happy litltle accident, that way I can go fuelie in the future. Old school 800 double pumper Holley. Transmission is basically stock. Stock clutches(re-clearanced) and bands. 4.2 lever, and, modded valve body. Swap meet convertor. Probably waaay to much, 3500. 8 3/4 rear with spooled 3.91's, and super stock springs. Have to run cooling hoses yet. Suppose to get nailed with a winter storm this weekend, so, a test drive is out. That sucks!! I'm anxious to beat on this thing!

Now that is cool! I think you should bore us with the step by step pictorial!!! ;)

These are the only ones I took. I'm pretty terrible about documenting my own stuff. Sorry, guys!

I’m guessing it has a little compression now with the eagle heads
Hate to be pushy but how much money do you have in it
I’m considering the same setup unless it
just gets to expensive or just to slow
Thanks for sharing

The complete 04 Durango engine to start with was $300. Used just the short block and lifters. Re used all the engine bearings, they were perfect yet with 100,000 on them. The Eagle heads were complete with rockers and shafts off e-bag for $400. 6.1 cam and pushrods, e-bag for $125. Single row timing set with multiple crank key ways, e-bag for $118. Melling oil pump off e-bag for $85. Milodon pan and pick up tube from Summit for $335.90. Arrow/Prefix intake for $600. Hone the block and polish the crank $200. ARP main and rod bolts for right at $300 of e-bag. Gaskets were e-bag items as well. I think I have a total of like $100 in those. $250 for the exhaust manifolds. that totals $2397.90. I re used a hemi 6 box and wiring I had off of race car. Also the car already had a Jeg's 120 gph electric pump on it. And I used one of the many carbs I had laying around. It won't be slow, but, haven't had a chance to drive it. Have snow on the ground now.

408 swinger.

I am doing the exact same swap. only thing I have different was the tti headers. when I started to collect the parts nobody could tell me definitely the jeep manifolds worked. Now I know. I have aprox dollar for dollar that you have in mine. I kept the pistons and put new bearings and oil pump in mine. I am going to be dropping the motor in over the next couple of weekends when my son comes home from school. much easier with two hands. I am going to use my Fast efi system for fuel and I two did by the Hemi 6 box.
If I can ask what head gasket did you use. I used the factory thickness with a .022 shim installed so I could get the compression down around 11.5 keep me in the pump gas area. if I have problems tuning I will drop the cash for the .060 cometics to get me down to the 9.5 to 10.5 area and get ready for boost!!
Good luck and I hope we can compare notes in the future.

I used the factory head gaskets, like the ones that came out of the engine, lol. Copper coated them and put em back in. No leaks. Good luck with your project! Hope you get it going soon!

I think that may put you at compression of about 12 to 1. you will have to watch the detonation for sure

Update. Here are the lead pipes I had bent up. They fit really nice.

Looking forward to the road test tomorrow. Son and I did the very basic swap last Thanksgiving. Plan was to have it done for his senior prom the following spring. Like in mid-April. Turns out prom is early this year. Like tomorrow. Found this out two weeks ago. Needless to say, we've been busting ***! Had to mount fans and controller, then wire. Finish kick down cable. Heater hoses. Oil filter relocation. Lead pipes and mufflers. We recycled the "purple hornies" header glass packs. Wire the alternator and regulator. Wire aftermarket gauge lights. Align front end. Not a huge list, except, wife was hospitalized, day job, etc. All worth it! Tomorrow is the big day and the only thing left(?) is to wash and vacuum. Hope he has fun with it .

That’s great. You will have to post a clip of it running with the purple hornies

Runs great! Haven't had time to see how it "really" runs. Will need a little bit of carb tuning. He loves it! He had a great time with it!
