Thought the resonators were the same 65-67? Some early 65’s came with a black tip instead of stainless...there was one on eBay the other day....I used to have 2 NOS ones...shoulda kept them! My dad has a NOS one on his 66 Formula S and they do sound mean!

I think they make reproductions now or something real similar...

I should have capitalized FRONT muffler I guess. I do have a rear resonator. I heard a story somewhere that they were so loud everybody bitched so they changed the muffler they next year. lol. They have a hum that's for sure. Thanks for responding man

I'll check when I get home. I might have two 65s left.

bump anyone ?
Try autoplicity.com with your factory part # in the search box & see if anything comes up ? ( or NAPA store for same see if they have any NOS Walker Muffler in stock & see what Surfaces ?)
Goodluck.
PS it sounds like you want basically a 'gutted resonator " to get that original factory sound ?.
You Could also try jcw's search engine & see what surfaces, even ordered to see what arrives, they are that. Cheap enough ( but apart from old boxed labeled NOS, you'll have best luck with old inventory Walker or may by Apex)
Cheers Trev.

The original front muffler was 20.5” long overall, 16.5” case length x 9” wide x 4.25” high. 2.25” inlet and outlet, both centered. 2.25” straight through glass pack core. Measured from my last Original muffler. A good glass pack with these dimensions should work fine.

Classic industries or accurate exhaust both list the front muffler. I purchased mine from classic. Perfect fit.

Ragtop, I think this is your muffler. Not the pipe but the muffler. EBAY.

Hey voetom I have eyed those pipes for years but alas they are for a 67. The muffler in question was a 65 first year only type thing. I think people bitched it was too loud so they changed it soon there after. I believe you could get it through the mustle hustle stuff (direct connection) catalog too. That's where I finally found the part number. I appreciate you thinking of me though. I'll keep looking.
