Hello from BluePrint Engines!

-
@sireland67 I’d be surprised if they did because of the cam size and the operating rpm range. I have never seen a performance engine start a Dyno run from idle, ever. And that’s is mostly because the cam and combo do not start to come together until later.

The cam used is a 240*@.050!! is not a small cam by any means and it is basically worthless to run it at W.O.T. to not only start a Dyno run but also to do so in your car.

Why?

Your torque converter should stall higher than the Dyno run starts , for starters! And power below that flash or just simply engagement point is not going to really be in effect. It’s actually stupid. You would just choke out the engine and muddle along. It would be similar to installing a 2.76 ratio, 30 inch tires and a stock stall converter.

It’s ridiculous!

I understand the wondering but your not at wide open throttle at that point and if you are, the cam hawk come into effect with the rest of the combo. If it was something, then installing the above combo would be done all the time.

Right. Peak hp and peak torque are really the takeaways. Aka shift point and desired converter flash. I doubt we have any from idle. May have one with a lower starting point. Will look tomorrow.

All I can say is we will be a company to keep an eye on moving forward ;) Nothing happens overnight, but let's just say I think of the mopar community whenever I can.

You guys could always find an unmolested R3 block and ship it to a casting foundry in China. Do small runs to fill a shipping container for $11.35, and do the final machining here. Just a thought.

Well, there is no doubt small block MoPar guys need reasonably priced race sturdy capable blocks.

But is there enough of us to support this move?

We actually cast our SBC and BBC blocks in the USA.

I think there is enough mopar guys in the world, the question is how many of them are coming to us (BluePrint) to get crate engines, short blocks, our new parts line, etc. That number needs to grow before we would/could look at tooling up further. I'm obviously here to grow our business. Hopefully we see some big things happen.

We have awesome offerings now. The more engines, short blocks, heck we're even offering the holley sniper on our site....that we move...the better we all make out.

Thank you again for promptly answering my questions, Johnny.
I feel that these were questions that anyone would be interested in, not just me.
Anyway, as for purchasing, it won't be until the fall and i sell off some projects and parts to fund this.
Don't think that i'm just a looky loo, i am absolutely serious about this.

I like your attitude and enthusiasm for the product you represent.
You come off as not just a salesman, but someone genuinely interested in selling a good product for a reasonable price.
An enthusiast.
To me, customer service is a rarity these days, and the business and reputation will grow with more people like you not only doing their job, but going the extra mile for their customers.
Cudos to you guys!

So Johnny Mac I plan on getting my engine from you this summer as my car should be restored by then {fingers crossed} How long does it take to get the engine after it's ordered ?
You sold me on your willing to help as much as you can and honesty so I feel real good about buying from you guys.

Thanks a bunch for the interest! We are about 30 days out if the engine isn't in stock. If you MUST have an LA you need to order like now...we are going to be done taking LA orders very soon. The roller cam Mag will be out by then. Which on the street I much prefer because you get the roller setup for not much more, and itll have a nice hp boost. But just an Fyi. :)

Yes LA is what I need but the funds are not available for a few more months. Are you going to still build the 360 later or not. Also I have a 1970 340 in good shape been running it for the last 4 years is that something I can send you and have you rebuild it if the 360 is not available? And you don't have to answer now it's Sunday enjoy your day off.

It's no problem at all. So LA cores in the quantities we buy, are simply gone from out suppliers. We make a 408, using a 360 block.
That 408 build is going to change to utilize a magnum block shortly, and will have a PN change. Now the only reason that you couldn't use a magnum based block is if you were only purchasing a short block, and were only interested in using a used set of LA heads....now there are ways to use LA heads...but it's not a super simple change. So, not sure where that leaves us .We cant take consumer cores for a few reasons, so unfortunately that's not a possibility.
Let me know what you think, or the reason you have to have LA.

The Magnum block is fine going to use your aluminum heads anyway and not a manic a body man so counting on you to steer me in the right direction. My next question would be will my intake off my 340 fit the Magnum block and all my other parts off it ?

It would if you used EQ heads that were drilled for the LA manifold. I don't know how individualized Blueprint Engines will get on a build. I realize Fred was wanting aluminium heads so Ya. No fitment there.

Any benefit using a Magnum block ?

The damper will need changed, but we sell one. We are also going to offer a fully dressed version with the engine completely turn key. And we can provide an intake. BUT your front drive accessories, starter, trans, converter...all good. Basically the balance and intake is all we should really need to worry about. But ya, I will fix ya up.

Sorry for my not knowing just want to learn and spend my money wisely.
