I would love to run a power adder to my next project. I do have a question about turbos. Why do I see the fast turbo run their exhaust out the side of the front quarter, with the turn up appearance? Specifically focusing on does the exhaust from the turbo benefit from being shielded from the wind? Why wouldnt you just cut it flush with the front quarter panel? Of course upon the posting of this thread I cannot find ONE example picture so I am violating partial code of FABO, (I found a couple chebby pics but I wont do that to you.....are you feeling the love?) but I believe that someone knows what Im talking about. Really f'n fast cars that dump the turbo out the front quarter with that turned up horn thing. I dunno to each his/her own. Maybe its just a thing you have to do to obtain the performance? I would cut that f*%$#r off flush.

Because they can? It's hot. May be they don't want to mess up their paint (or fiberglass)

Some tracks mandate the up pipe. I have mine a little past the fender mainly for exhaust smell, just to get it more in the airstream.

Dumping the exhaust as soon as possible will help with performance by creating virtually zero pressure in the downpipe compared to slight back pressure as seen with mufflers and full length exhaust. This makes the air transfer in the turbo faster, making spool-up sooner.
