Next up on my want list is a rust pit free hood safety catch for a 1972 Dodge Demon.Need a late 1971 or early 1972 date code.Looking for a nice clean part that I can have replated/restored.Got a 100.00 bill waiting for the right part :)
 
What is the number I'm supposed to be looking for? I've got a couple and not sure what I have. also where is the number located to LOL I'm just not a numbers-matching kind of person but for the right money you can have the stuff and I can get something for 10 bucks..
 
On the front of the latch as your stand in front of the car,there should be 3-4 numbers stamped on the long part of the catch.Should read something like 3_ _ 1 (3_ _ day of 1971) or 0_ _ 2 (01_ 2) or 010 day of 1972. I have an April of 72 built car so need something late in 1971 or early few days of 1972
 
I looked and I didn't see any numbers anywhere. Maybe have to dumb it down even more and take a picture and point at it..
 
according to what he wants, dated coded, you should check the four numbers. I happened to have one and the numbers were very clear.........mine was 2289, so not close to what he wants.
