So I finished up the front disc swap on the car. Went to install the front wheels and discovered that the hub center is way to small and will not fit over my front brakes. Ugh. So I took the wheels off my other 65. Not really wanting to but it looks really good. This job just got bigger lol. Now I need to swap my 8 1/4 in the rear so my wheels will match. I took the kids around the block. They love this car.

The smiles tell it all, Dad.

After a long day of parts running and r&r of the rear axle. The old man and I freshened up and installed a 8 1/4. Now I just need to get a lug stud because one is broke and I did not notice it. I was not planning on doing this but it will be nice one it is done.

Here is the first photo’s of it near completed. I learned that the driveshaft needs shortened now. Was not expecting that. Not sure why but thought it would bolt right in place. So it is out and I will drop it off tomorrow. Can’t wait to see it move under us own power and to get the suspension to settle in place.

Those new wheels look 10 times better and I have Ralleye whels on my 70. :)
thanks yeah I really like them. Problem is they were for my other 65. O well looks like that car is getting welds now. Lol.

What size are those good looking wheels ?
Also the tire size.
17x8 4.5 back space on the rear. 17x7 4.25 back on the front. Tires are 225 in the front and 255 in the rear. Can’t remember the diameter right now.. I think 35.

Very nice looking Dart! I'm jealous! Did you do engine swap recently? Haven't been following you till now. I'm planning on installing a 273 v8 with a 4 speed in my '64 Dart. It's a slant 6 auto presently.

Well driveline is back in. Car is far from prefect but looks great in pictures. It is a fun driver and that’s what I wanted. Now back onto the race car.

After taking it to work today I learned that my right front caliper is seized. Damaged my rotor and pads. Talked to Napa and they are going to replace them. Won’t be tell next week when they get a caliper. So I took my 11.75 brakes and rotors off my other dart. My goal is a pre mopar show here in Slc and nothing will stop me hahaha.

That's a beautiful looking car you got there! I never thought that silver would look good on an early A, but now I see how wrong I was. My 64 GT will be Plum Crazy, and I am nervous about whether it will look good or not. With what paint costs these days!

jw97neon,

I love it in silver too! Now a top color choice for my 65 when I paint it.

Question for you: What wheels are those? Obviously I see the Cragar cap but couldn't find those wheels on their site. I'm looking for a five spoke wheel but a little different than everyone else. And they really look good on your look on your Early A.

Thanks for your help,

Ok figured it out. Looks like they are 500g Series Eliminator wheels -- and of course since i'm looking for them, it appears that they have been discontinued. Bummer!

Yeah they have been discounted. Rocket wheels has one that is very similar.

jw97neon,

Thanks for pointing out that Rocket makes a wheel similar to the Cragar Eliminator. You are spot on! I checked out the Rocket website and wow- the STRIKE style wheel is dam close. They even have 15" sizes up to 10" widths which is perfect for me for I'm looking for a 15" wide wheel but meatier taller tire like old stock car slicks for my 72 Fury station wagon.

Thanks so much.

Frank
