Ready to buy tires and rims for my 72 Dart that has been mini-tubbed. Have 14" of tub room. Looking at a 295/40/18 out back. Thats 27.3 x 11.6
Any of you running a 28" tall tire or bigger?
What size are you running up front? I have a 73 K and suspension. Was thinking a 26" x 8" tire.
Also was thinking of running 17" wheels up front. Seems to be more selection for that size tire in a 17" versa an 18".
Also looking at the Nitto NT555G2 tire.
Thoughts??????

18x9 front w/ 255/40-18
18x10 rear w/ 295/40-18

I'm seriously thinking I will eventually go 18x9.5 w/ 275/35-18 and 19x12 w/ 325/30-19

Here is a few pictures of the car in 2005 with borrowed (test fit) 17x8 on all four corners. 245/45-17 F and 255/50-17 rear.

I can't fault your decisions on that one.:D
I'm running 245/40-18 tires on 9.5 inch rims out back and 225/40-17's on 8 inchers up front.
Tires are Nitto Neo Gen Extreme Performance front and back.
Absolutely love them, even though the car wants to track ridges and cracks in the road a little more due to the wide front tires.

Mine isn't what you would call a Pro Touring car though.

Here it is in 2011 with 15x3-1/2 front and 15x10 rear with 325/50-15 drag radials

Mine is just a brute... I consider it a restomod maybe, not necessarily a Pro Touring car.

Not sure what the distinction is. Do you have to have a modern engine to call it Pro Touring?

I added pics, and I call it a resto mod.
Motor is a 5.9 mild build and dressed as an LA 360, and has a 42RH overdrive trans.

Pro Touring is setup for handling and corners. Usually running 17" or 18" wheels.
Restomod is more show with 18 and 20's and slammed to the ground.

440 with Weiand six pack tunnel ram converted to EFI, 11.3:1, ported aluminum heads, solid cam. T-56 Magnum six speed transmission with a twin disc clutch. 3.90 gear 8-3/4 rear with a Detroit Locker.

Still in the process of build and fabrication... too many one off custom parts.

I'm thinking the 295/40/18 are the ones for the back. They look good on your cars. No rubbing issues?

Welded K-frame, 1.12" torsion bars, Borgeson power steering, etcetera...

Not even close. Mine is mini-tubbed, but maybe Barracuda has a little more room? About 1-1/2" on outside and 2" on inside. I used to run the 325/50 Drag radial tucked...

275/35/18 tires on 18 x 10 Rims with 6.5" back spacing using a stock width A-body 8 3/4 rear end, mini tubbed and inside wheel lip trimmed back. It's an extremely tight fit on the outside of 71' Dart. If I were to do it again I would narrow the rear axle 2" and go with a 5.5" back spacing on the wheels.

I guess I should clarify. Mine is mini tubbed AND the springs are relocated.

I have 17s now and cannot find a taller tire than a 40. I got new firm feel leafs with a -1 drop and it’s too low so I’m thinking of just doing an 18” wheel.
