Finally got a chance to talk to this guy. Car was running 9.70's on a less than ideal track. 455" small block with a 904 behind it. Said that anything that was available aftermarket for the trans is in it. Has a complete original factory interior...minus the radio that he just took out. One owner car. Alter K front end. Thing is beautiful.

Thanks for posting that! I was hoping you got a shot of that car, I took several and lost them when I tried transferring them to my portable HD.

Even had an engine shot. :BangHead:

I talked to him for awhile. Car even has most of it's original paint. 1976 Dart Sport 360. Said his fastest time was 9.50x at Mission. Best I remember Friday night was 9.77@136. He said he has run as fast as 9.60's here in Spokane before. Would have loved to see him run some on Saturday but had prior commitments.

Never checked, but I think he might even be running through mufflers. Didn't have the decibels of an open exhaust car (IMO), but I'm no race car expert.

Sweet car. And a really nice guy.

Car made my night.

And great to finally meet you and put a face to the name.

Damn! Is that a manitoba plate? Sure looks like it.

Yup it is. Its cool to see stuff like this from my neighbourhood

Yup, a friendly Manitoba plate!

There couldn’t have been many 360 Dart Sports produced in 1976!

Great to meet you. Sorry I was a bit of a scatterbrain, had a lot running thru my head. Car has 3.5" exhaust out the back. Someone backed into the right quarter. Body guy had to spray from the stripes back to get it to blend. Something fell on the roof as well.
Car is very impressive.

Good lookin car. Great lookin photo.

Nothing like a small block a-body to get your heart thumping..

Completely understand, no worries. You were in the middle of things.

As I recall, be said he retired and moved to BC.

I have a 76 dart sport, it had multiple engines in its life,i had a 360 in it for a while, never had the brains 28 years ago to run the numbers. And after i recovered it,it went straight inside to keep from getting any more deteriorated. Maybe it had, time will tell.

What is the bore and stroke of a 455 s/block mopar ? What block ?

He said it was an aftermarket 340 block. And it was either a 4.125" or 4.25" stroke. He came up with a couple of numbers for the stroke trying to say it right so now I don't remember for sure. Only other info I remember is he had Indy cylinder heads on it and a Dominator.

He also said he blew up several rear axles over time and gave up and just put a Dana in it. Had a picture of that peaking out from under the back bumper...:BangHead:

Looked like a four link, too? Didn't stick my head under to verify though.

4.19" bore with a 4.125" stroke? Does that make sense?

Pretty sure he used the word "Siamese" when he was talking about the block.

Not sure what the max bore would be, but if a 4.19" is out of range a 4.125" bore with a 4.25" stroke would be about right, too.

Was that from Friday night?
Sunday.

Said it was a "tall deck" 340 Resto block. Don't remember the specifics...think DionR is right with the stroke...I do remember him saying it was a Siamese block. Pretty sure he is racing the Summit Series at Spokane County Raceway, if he is I will get the specifics on bore/stroke.

Awesome car, pics, and video.
Us Canadians know how to party, don't we?
