Aight den. Once I am motivated, I am not one to leave stuff alone. So in that spirit I have been researching the motor mount situation for the early A with the slant six. The driver's side motor mount is not available. Anywhere. Well, there's that ploylock dude that sells the pair for like 150 bucks. Screw all that.

So, here's what I came up with. The 2338 motor mount is the same as the driver's side early A slant six mount with one exception. It's only about 1/4" shorter in height. Here's the mount.

It's the early A 273 driver's side mount. I got one today. I am simply going to take a piece of 1/4" plate and make a spacer to go between the mount and the engine bracket. Problem solved for $15.99.

I don't know. The only one I have had in my hand is the 2338. I think those biscuit style ones are the same height as the 2338 so the spacer is still needed.

What does it look like and for what car. I was researching a bunch for my 64 truck project.

I bought a pair of engine mounts from Classic Industries a couple of years ago for my 1964 Dart GT, they fit and work just fine. My friends here in Australia now use these mounts on our Valiants, no problems. I just checked, they still sell the same product. Are these what you are looking for, or is there something I'm not understanding about your question?

The driver's side is not available anywhere in any of the big box stores. The only place you can find them are specialty places like Classic and Laysons, which I did not know until I started this thread. Since the inventories of those companies didn't show up in any of my online searches, I had no way to know they carried the mounts until now. I need one, but since I have the 2338 and a hunk of 1/4" plate and cannot afford another mount right now, I am going to make what I have work.

OK, understood... This must be more common than I first imagined... When I first got my car it had a chunk of steel plate under the mount in my car, a quick Google search showed I had what appeared to be two left hand mounts fitted and modified to suit...

Could well be. I may get the correct one eventually, but for now I am going to have to make do.

Is the passenger side 273 mount available? I thought I read they are the same side to side.

I think your best bet is to take a later spool mount k-frame for a /6, narrow it 2.46" (IIRC) and move the motor mounts forward 2" and out the same amount you narrowed it. This would allow you use the later spool mounts, plus give you a better idler arm mount and the ability to use the later sway bar.

It would look like the one on top:
