What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
I thought I had read somewhere that they had fixed that issue but maybe not... I just installed a new one in my car a few months ago so I guess i will have to keep an eye on that!
Seems like there should be a solution.

You will likely be ok, as all the newer ones apparently have a yellow grease already applied.

Their fixes/solutions to issue is:
-drill 2-4 small holes about rotor height every 90 degrees in the side of the cap (newer caps have a vent/holes already)
-clean it all back up to new and coat metal parts, except pickup/wheel with dielectric grease

...and my dist may be older than 2 yrs, as this is when they rectified problem.

No turning back now!

Warmed the Dart up for the first show of the year on Saturday morning and damned if the water pump bearing and seal didn't bite it. Weep hole runnin' like a spigot. Got it off today and there's like an eighth of an inch play side to side. At least it happened in the driveway!

Went through the exhaust pipes. Found one of the tti hangers was rubbing the muffler and the tranny crossmember was touching as well. Hopefully that squeak goes away.

While I was at it I added the new AMD rear bumper. Still need to order the spacers below the tail lamps. Also added some stainless exhaust tips from Flowmaster. Guess I could have gone with the ones from Accurate but those are way overpriced for what they are. I think these look great.

Before exhaust tips

I ordered all the bulbs I need, plus extras, for all my turn signals, park, side marker lights, and taillights that are out, and my shifter and door lights.

Today, watching it sit in the driveway all cleaned up and full of gas with no place to go.:D
There is a car show later today and it'll get to go to that at least.

Got my BC out of storage this morning after 5 months of not seeing it. Fired up and I drove it to work. Was 45 minutes late because of the crowd at the gas pumps:)

Pulled the gas tank, dumped out the very bad, rust-infused gas. Found that the tank had been restored once, in the past and all the coating is separating from the inside. The car sat for a long time, and apparently it was right after someone had dumped a ton of time and money into trying to get it road-worthy--has a new sending unit, too. Bottom of the filler tube is heavily pitted by rust. Anybody have a source for new tanks for a '64 Dart?

Tamraz has really good deals that pop up. Website is a pain in the ***. They also have stuff listed on eBay. Can use any 63-66 abody tank.

Yesterday, I Received a Edelbrock D4B for my 65 Commando so I can try (Play with) a 650 CFM Carter AVS ... Machined some pitted warped (not flat) flanges... And dust off all the other mating flanges... Removed some old plumbing and replaced with Stainless steel and a Brass plug.. going to block the heat cross over..( we don't need it in the Phoenix Arizona desert )
