I have try'd looking and I can't find what I'am looking for...ok here it is I have a 73 plymouth duster It has the slanted 6 K member. I have a small block K member out of a 70-71 Dart. I have another buddy with a big block K member out of a 68-69 Cuda. I was woundering if any of them 2 will work in my 73 Duster..

I would like to go big block and use the right K member instade of using motor plates. What ever one will work in my car I will go small or big block..Thanks Jimmy.

all a body's (after 67 i believe) have the same k's...

as for the original big block k if u can get it from him i would sell it for bank and then just buy the schumacker mounts for your /6 k...

If you have a friend that has a big block K member and doesn't know what it is worth.I believe that I would tell him.Don't know if it's worth losing a friend over.Your call.

Thats what he said he doesn't know what its worth..Make him a offer he spend 1400-2000 dollars on a tubler front suspension/ K member. He gave my dad a almost brand new set of 315x60x15 M/T Drag radials. He bought 275s hes gonna try to run the 275 Drag radial class this coming year..

mopar kid's right, leave the one in the car and get the schumaker motor mount kit for the app.

i have a schu kit in my 66 valiant, it has the original /6 k, put a small blk in it. worked great.

that 73 might have spool mounts i cant remember

not sure about the spool mounts, i thought they came later, 76 or so, anyways it doesn't matter, schu will have an app for it.

also all k's after 67 are not the same, the motor mount perches are specific for the app, small blk, big blk, or /6 i believe..... but anyway if the bb k member is indeed out of 67 or later barracuda, it should bolt right in......

shumaker kits run about 150.00 these days.

im also in the same boat i got a slant 6 in my 74 dart and im wondering what else would i have to change in order to drop in a 318?i either have a 727 or 904 tranny and from what ive heard either of those will stand up to the 318 but what about the rear end? and what engine accessories would i be able to reuse? sry not trying to hijack your thread but im also wondering about the same thing i bought a 73 v8 k frame that was damaged a bit in the front but decided it would be to much work to fix it then put it in so i sold it and gave up on the idea of doing a easy v8 swap til i heard about these mounts you can use on the /6 k frame

I paid less than half for Trans Dapt mounts to put a 383 on my stock /6 k frame. I had to trim the corner on the DS mount to clear the oil pump but thats it.

Its all good don't worry. I'am gonna use the mounts now in stade of swaping K-members.. You will have to get a V8 transmission. If I was you I would look for a 8 3/4 rear end if you plain on making in HP.

i meant slant to slant, sb to sb or bb to bb, the physical k is the same just different mounts for diff engines

it's all good, just wanted to clarify, also meant to say that the k's out of 67, 68, 69 barracuda's only, 70 and up are e bodies....

yah, schu's are expensive, but are good mounts and bolt right in......

Spool mount started in 73 I believe, witch is to bad because if you had a 72 down k member you would not need shoe mockers to go from /6 to small block. I was taught an old school way, no motor plates or welding or fabing. Who else knows it? before I tell my only cool secret.

i stand corrected, back when i was a youngin' i believe i took a mount out of dodge ram w/a small blk. and used it for one side, and one of the slant six mounts, anyways, worked pretty good.....

From '63 to '66 all the K members were the same. The only difference was the engine brackets and mounts. '67 to '72 used different K members for slants, small blocks, and big blocks. The '67 K member used a one year only idler arm. '73 to '76 used the spool mount K member and was different for slants and small blocks. The '67 to '72 and '73 to '76 will interchange if you use the same year range steering box and linkage as the K member. It's a lot easier to get a swap mount kit than it is to change a K member.

72 through mid 80s truck and van mounts worked on to of my conversions for slant 6 to small block, just switch sides.I don't know about the 66 down though.

I have a 66 valaint with a six in it.
Im converting to disk brakes from a 73 duster.
I want to replace the steering linkage to the 73 but the idler bracket is different.
I have a small block that Im concidering installing but is there a solution to the idler bracket ?
Thanks

There is more difference than idler arm bracket. The ball studs load to drag link in opposite directions. So depending on what steering gear you plan to use,,, you may need a pitman arm that is not produced.
