@memike
You near that guy that killed his headlights?
He needs someone local to troubleshoot for him.

Granbrat's 3rd b'day in Az is going to use up my travelin' money for a while :(.
I think a trip to Carlisle would be an excellent birthday present.

Went to Sam's Club, and got a Delco battery. Fired right up.
I think even after I get the new restored look battery I'll just throw this one on the trailer and carry it as a backup.

Completely agree. I saw the title and figured there must be something more. That was my mistake.

But the "political" responses by some don't belong at all in the public section. Having posts calling people dems, libtards or fascists is just bullshit. Save that crap for the N&P forum.
I'm on it. Thanks for the tip.

Really warmed up nice here.

Think i will be reading my bandsaw its last rights. Into the scrap truck it goes.
Spent more time than allocated to align blade.
Cold saw coming up.
Cut the framework. Well, most of it.

Green eye?
Remember those?
Must have been one of the first sealed batteries. I didn't like the idea, but my Nova had one it and it lasted and lasted.

Broke the master link on the way back from the co-op. Very surprised! Fortunately not too far away and could walk the bike and coast. Another thing to fix.

Did you read back? Nothing more needs to be said here.
only to the top of this page. i'll pop back a couple more pages.

We have a local person who for years (40) has done nothing but rebuilt alternators. The cost to do mine is $40.
I don't know the history of mine, and wonder if I should just get it done??
I know several people who have used this person and all were very happy with the service.

Heck yeah, probably cost ya most of that to get the parts to do it yourself

Only issue would be appearance. Rebuild is likely just functional - not a 'restoration' type service like Hoppy does on distributors

Yep I was thinking for performance only. Will look the same as is just run better/stronger??

Can only put out what it was designed to do. I would see it more as insurance against untimely failure ( is there ever a good time?)
Matt has posted a bunch of stuff on alternators. Could probably give a bit more insight @Mattax
