I'm in the midst of a cluster, and feel one coming on. Just trying to keep myself busy with bright lights and thought.. I apologize if nobody wants to hear this crap.

I was getting headaches all the time at my forehead area. 7 different professionals could not figure it out. Finally went into the Dentist and found an abscess tooth on the upper left second tooth from the back. Turns out the abscess was getting up into my sinus area giving me the nasty ongoing headaches. Pulled the tooth and got my life back again, feeling good now. Took a little while for things to clear up, but that took care of it.

Hope this helps . . .

Thanks for the thoughts. Been fighting cluster headaches headaches (aka 'suicide headaches) for 7 years or so. My ENT doc, or any of the other docs I've seen has any answer, which is the norm for clusters. Thank you!

A friend of mine back in the 70s use to get cluster headaches. After all the test it came down to beer and yeast were causing his.

That used to be a widely believed thing that alcohol was a cause, it's been debunked in the last few years. Mine are far worse in a cluster when I don't have a few beers like usual.

You need to see a neurologist, not an ENT. Cluster headaches fall in the realm of neurology.

Find an expert.

I have, multiple times. My ENT has kinda taken the lead on it though, after I had bells palsy on my left side, which only healed 20%, and then a year and a half later on my right side which came back 6 months later about 30%. A smile from me is a strange thing :)

Not looking for a cure here guys, just wondering if anyone else here deals with it.

I get both. Does that count? I could get into why, but I don't want to bore you with my dictionary of medical problems. lol

Oof. I can't imagine being susceptible to both. You win... the prize is shitty one, though.

I get silent migraine's I start seeing half of everything then it turns into a flashing light and I can't see anything until it clears up. It usually last 30 minutes or so but has lasted over an hour. The headache comes afterwards and I hate them, I had the first one when I was 16, and have had them about once or twice a year since.

Well that sounds just lovely, losing your eyesight followed by a pile of pain. Welcome to the 'my own head hates me' club. I know it's a dumb question that people always ask.. but you have seen a Dr. or 10 about it, right?

Try a high CBD, low THC mix if you aren't driving.

If they occur during the day try a straight CBD tincture application direct to the scalp or back of the neck.

Very strong peppermint oil may help but its not easy to get use to the smell.

My lady suffers from both cluster and migraine and these help her

I use to suffer migrainesbut I have learned to control them. I can feal when one wants to start and I close my eyes while breathing deep. I do a thing where I envision my brian as a triangle. With each breath in it expands into pitch black "mud". With each breath out the triangle shrinks in size and sinks deeper into the black. When I breath in the triangle expands and can not rise up.

I do this with my eyes closed untill I'm ok or I fall asleep.

I have a few friends that separated from the military due to cluster headaches and TBI.

They are now being treated for abnormally low testosterone and quality of life has skyrocketed.

Seriously, ask your doc to check your levels

I'll give this a try. Thanks!

I know this will sound dumb to folks who have never experienced this type of thing but I read this book 20+ years ago and it's where I first learned to control my brain, dreams.
Tales of Power book by Carlos Castaneda

It takes a long time and practice but now I can do it in the day light just by relaxing and using my mind to "see" the pitch black while my mi d is a small triangle of light sinking into it.

For me it's all about relaxing my mind, the body follows and it helps a lot.

Never heard of cluster headache's. Sounds awful. I hope you get the help that you need.

I had problem with migraines and dizzy spells. For me I wasn't sleeping well. Sleep aid took care of the migraines and dizzy spells. Seems I snored also/sleep apnea.

I went to the eye doctor first, and after an eye exam he advised me to see my medical doctor. My medical doctor told me it was silent migraine, and told me I may need to see a neurologist if they didn't stop, after that I didn't have any for over a year, but then they started again. I haven't had one since last April, but I know one will slip up on me anytime.

@RSie forgot to mention, they also had relief with Botox injections into the scalp..

It's not dumb if it works :)

I want to thank you all for the kind words and advice.

I take any advice given to me that I know was given with good intentions seriously.. whether it's about this, what carb I should use, or what paint works best, and I will research all of it.

As for me, I'm on day 9 of getting at most, 2 hours of sleep a night. Turns my mind to mush after 3 days or so. I'd be screwed without the awesome, understanding support system I have from my wife and kid... but they are there, and I'll get through this.. they've gotten me through it many times before. And, in a way, everyone on this site has..lots of those nights I was reading old posts with an ice pack on my head.

Again, thank you all!

Also, I'm done with this post as I should have never posted it in the first place.. it needs to just die, like we all will someday.
I won't reply to it anymore.
Thanks again, all of you!

Hope the best for you, and hope the headaches stop, I guess we all need to vent sometimes and it helps to know were not alone in the struggles of life.

Yeah man, good luck. Sleep deprivation is a nasty thing.
